I've ballasted the two dual gauge turnouts at Silver Creek. I'm content with the throw bar so far. After the scenery I will install the switch stand. Wolfgang
My wife is a collector of teddy bears so she has all of the Smokey Bear cars. She needed a locomotive, so I put this together for her : She is happy . :bear-rolleyes:
Beautiful job Carl, im sure your wife will be thrilled to add it to her collection, i wouldnt mind having one myself
Yuba River Sub Hi. New here, thought I'd post a photo of my layout--this is South Yuba Canyon with a Rio Grande 3-cylinder 4-8-2 heading east up the 2% grade. The 2-8-8-2 on the upper westbound line is running light after a helper operation on Yuba Pass. Tom

GN 143 pulls a car from the Riverside Commercial District. Just some test configurations for the Riverside Drive area of my layout. I built the brick road with embedded track this weekend. More in my album Riverside Drive.
Wow, Mark, you have a very compelling shot there. If you could find a way to bring the bridge into better focus, you would have a contest winner. Can you try to move the camera back maybe four-six inches and see what happens? You can always crop a bit and bring the angular size of the engine and train back up to where it is, but the part of the bridge visible would probably be sharper. Very cool, though. Tom, how wonderful to see you over here.....finally... :-D We can't have enough steam, and your fine layout is just the one to show it all off. My contribution this week is also posted next door in the weekend modelling image contest.
Been a while since I have posted. Today i cleaned out the model room then cleaned the layout. Operated a few trains and took these photos
Some really great stuff this week. I really like the passenger cars that where custom painted, great work. All the other photos I really like as well. Great work.
Glad to see the Colonel here. Hope he and I both get those trains running this weekend. At the monthly SAMRA meeting last night, John Green , Jr. brought his mostly scratch built structure for show and tell. Wow! I was impressed. This is a Campbell's structure on the end with the store. The warehouse portion is scratch built. This represents an abandoned structure and is not from a prototype. John builds these type structures for his father who is also a SAMRA member. Mr. Green senior is a regular train operator on his home layout. Here are seven pictures.
More John Green, Jr. Photos The details on this side were from a Craftsman kit. John said it took longer to assemble these that it did to make the building.
