Well, I am no longer a refugee or even side-tracked. Finally was able to get seats on an airplane into Houston to rescue my car from the parking lot, find gas (getting scarce around here) and drive home. No major damage at home. The official rain total for the storm measured at the Sugar Land Airport was something like 51.7 inches. No flood water in the house but wind did rip some shingle tabs off my roof and drop a large branch off a maple tree. It fell on the fence smashing a few pickets and demolished one of my wild duck nesting boxes. Fortunately the ducklings had all hatched a week or so before and nobody was home. I guess I will file a claim with Mutual of Duckburg and see they will cover it.
If someone is willing to print decals, I have an MTL 40' plug door boxcar that is already painted brown....
Last week we were treated to some fuselage train pictures from Mark Watson. He is the master! Here is one of my renditions. I've been out of pocket up in North Conway, NH riding the Conway Scenic RR on the annual rail fans special. I return to find a phenomenal Hog Shop has opened in our neighborhood. Beautiful, Candy, simply beautiful. BTW, I'll post some photos from this weekend when I return to MS, riding Amtrak, Of Course.
Some modeling fun here this weekend had a few guys over we had a blast. Here we see power from different roads, sitting in the cab tracks. Here we see some SP and DRGW power coming back to the tie up tracks after setting their train out in a staging yard. Thanks for stopping by.
