Here is something in HO for a change from me. This is an old Roundhouse Harriman car that I swapped out the Globe vents on the roof with Harriman style ventilators.
We have a new photo modelling challenge this weekend "Hoppers" . I have not run one of these for a while so lets see how many participants we can get involved this weekend so grab your camera take and post it in the challenge. 72 hour prototype challenge "Hoppers" ending Monday 1st October 2007
A Guilford Geep ambles out from a tunnel. This is my newest loco acquisition. It's not really from my era/road name, but I could not resist. I see Guilford all the time around these parts. :tb-cool: She's also an exceptionally smooth runner.
SNFF 2007 10 05 The first US Model RR Convention in Germany is taking place this weekend, Oct 6-7, in Rodgau, Germany (close to Frankfurt) US-Modellbahn-Convention I am very, very fortunate to be able to stop by here for a day on Saturday while on a layover for a business trip. A generous Thank You to *Horst Meier*, lead organizer for this event, who welcomed me to stop by on setup night tonight (Fri Oct 5). Those of you from US you may recognize him from his recent Model Railroader cover shot and/or his German-language model railroading book, this is him and his layout at this convention: It's going to be a great show. If you are in the Frankfurt, Germany area, you would really enjoy it. I put the rest of the photos I made tonight in a Community Webshots album: 1stUS_ModelRR_ConvGermanys photos and albums on webshots And time permitting, I hope to be able to post a few more. Take care all.
I bagged some matched power under less than ideal skies, but here's a shot that's increasingly difficult to capture; Lower River Road, Great Falls, MT:
Here are a couple of shots of the engine house on my layout. Little do these critters know they are "moving" first thing in the morning to make way for "turnout" improvements as stated on the weekend modeling plans thread.
Another weekend of great stuff. I was able to paint some of the "dreaded" plywood black. I also changed some building locations. I think it looks & flows better.

Great photos everyone. I've been working on the West end of the layout this week and went from this... To this... A couple more Jon
Here's a shot not destined for the magazines. Just doing upgrade and maintenance this weekend. I have three turnouts that have been neglected since the old "DC BLOCK" days. I pulled two and made them "DCC FRIENDLY" at the workbench this morning. Then I re-installed them. The third was ballasted in and too far set. I was afraid to try and remove it. So, I rewired that from above on the layout. I have the Machines all set to install. Plus tomorrow, I will wire the "headers", install terminals, and hook them up to power. I tested the power today w/ wire and alligator clips. All is well, waiting for final hook-up. This will allow me to better use my engine house plus about 3 or 4 industries in the little town of Cholly Gap on my layout. Next time I run trains, I will ENJOY the fact that I bit the bullet and got this done.
Fantastic! Is this your layout? Either way, that is a very close representaton of an area in which I have spent loads of hours. Bravo!
Hello, Harryll and all! Here's a few more photos from the 1st US-themed Model RR Convention in Germany, Oct 6-7th, in Rodgau, Germany (near Frankfurt). If you are near Frankfurt on Sunday Oct 7th, please go and enjoy! The venue is a very short walk from the Dudenhofen station off the S1 commuter train, and you will really enjoy yourself. The modelers and attendees are mostly from Germany, but there are people here from France, from Switzerland, and I'm sure a few other countries in Europe as well! 1. "Somewhere West" in N scale: 2. "Dolly Varden Mines Rwy" in HO:
