After a delay of 15 years, I started playing again. Please post your comments on how I can make this scene better.
Terriffic photos guys and some great weathering too. I've been messing around with some new photo locations using the latest finished loco - an old Walthers H10-44 Jon
Just a quick grab shot of an EL SW9 moving some equipment around at the end of rush hour. The sun is getting low in the sky, rush hour is over and the non-revenue moves are now popping up all over the railroad. This is a shot on my N-scale layout. The car is a kitbashed Boonton Line car. Scott
Cool looking car. Let me guess, Lima/MP sides and roof with vents carved off, Bachmann trucks and an awesome open vestibule using Detail Associates steps.
Close on most of it. MP car, roof shaved, ribs added, rebuilt interior, rebuilt car ends with detail associated steps and MDC trucks. scott
At first I thought it was a Rivarossi roof because of the ribs but the groups of five little vents along the clerestory gave it away. I forgot about the availability of the four wheel MDC trucks. Excellent job.
Joe Great weathering on the F7! And great shots! Crandell Great sweeping shot! Steve W Great looking loco! Bpach Looking good so far! Jon Great new locations and great looking loco too! Scott Great looking E-L unit!
Here is the other group of tank cars I finished weathering: Atlas GP-40 – B&O Atlas 23,500 Gallon Tank Car – E. R. Carpenter Atlas 23,500 Gallon Tank Car – Citgo Petroleum
Atlas 23,500 Gallon Tank Car – Mobile Atlas 23,500 Gallon Tank Car – Citgo Petroleum A friend’s caboose – Hudson Electric
N scale hobos from Woodland Scenics, camp fire, trees, and logs scratched. These now reside on a remote corner of my second layout.
Problems with my knees have kept me from working under the layout until recently. I am taking advantage of the new found mobility by trying to finish the installation of all the SPDT sub-mini slide switch turnout controllers in the yard. Here are a couple photos of the yard.
Here is a photo of the turnout switches. Here are some photos of where I have been working lately. Under the layout.
Thanks for the compliments:teeth: Here is a 3/4 shot of the F7. I used parts from BLMA's F/E unit set and a few Sunrise parts. Most of the wire work is hand bent. Here's a shot of the rear. MU cables are made from decoder wire.
sillystringtheory - Love the green hoppers. Are then "N" and where did you get them or...?
Thanks. I got them at a local train show from National Capitol 2 years ago. They are Intermountain N scale and all but 4 have different #s. When they are in a complete train it does look pretty cool.
I went to Missoula, MT this weekend. Here's a clean ACe entering town with a block of tank cars: The long-departed Milwaukee Road has left remnants all over the state, and here's an electric locomotive substation, in the middle of nowhere--Primrose Substation #10:
