I wish someone would paint their fleet in this scheme. It was very handsome. Well, I was all set to head out late this morning. A beautiful day, fall colors, crystal clear blue skies. Marias Pass would have been superb for some BNSF action. And the ignition switch went haywire in my vehicle. Thankfully in my driveway. @$&*#%^&*&^!!!
According to the SBRHS site, "...is stored at Redondo Junction in Los Angeles, California." Vernon sounds familiar. Wasn't it one of our Google Earth Engine Shops contests?
Yes, Redondo Junction. That's the name of the control point at the Amtrak yard. Drat I usually have a good memory for 1: ca place names from Beach Boy songs aaaaannnnd places mentioned by Mel Blanc. Anaheim, Azuza and Cuuucamonga
I like that NW2 - it's still clean, in a simple but appealing paint scheme, and it's still working for a living! Interesting shot of that Santa Fe steamer.
I think it will be rebuilt as an SD40-3 in the 4000-series with the new safety cab designs. Sent from my LG-P930 using Tapatalk 2
Yeah, there are two other Switchers on their roster. I'll put them up on some other weekend. If/when I do my next layout, I'm going to incorporate them.
I'm jealous of people who have access to CSX power other than AC44's and ES44's and AC60's.... I haven't seen anything else in at least 3 years.... sick sick sick! Sent from my LG-P930 using Tapatalk 2
Tell me about it. Where I am, the vast bulk of what comes through are C44-9W. If not that, more ES44 units are showing up. Seeing much else is surprising and older EMD stuff, (except local power), is getting to be almost rare. Boredom....
Interresting, that railroad that makes living the famous Black Widow paintscheme.... That drives me to a question that just pops up to my mind: do these guys have to pay UP a licence for using that former SP paintscheme? Dom
