This was a very uneventful train week for me. Yes, I saw engines at Buttonwillow, but tue light was bad and we were moving north on I5 with haste.

Then let's kick this off with a 1920s CN diesel rail car at the Canadian Railway Museum in September 1975:

Empty sand train waiting for the CSX Q-316, just north of Point Pleasant,WV. These run 2 or 3 times a week.

A very nice shot indeed. The distinguished gentleman in the suit with a hat adds a bit of period authenticity.

After a year of failed attempts, I finally got a shot of NS Train 155 on this bridge yesterday. The light is good for only several hours in the morning and capturing the only southbound morning train on it has been an epic trial. The undergrowth of briars is getting the upper hand.

And then there was this paint scheme. Why does my gut feel uneasy?

Oakways! Haven't seen them around for a long time. Whatever happened to them? Scrap, I suppose.

That is SO cool. In 45 Years of railfanning, I've never witnessed street running. A great capture -- thanks!

A fair pile up of trains there. Are they crew short?

NAw, just the way dispatching worked out. Seems like they always run them in clusters through here anymore.

Is that an all steel trestle? I see the stringers are steel but the piles look like wood and there are only 4 of them per bent.

It's all steel now, but it once had wooden stringers. You can barely see some of the stubs of the cut off wooden stringers in front of the steel bents.

Yep, I can see those nubbins sticking out on the far side.
