Nice train, Wolfgang. I have some private road names (prn) on my layout, too. I like the names that are plausible. John Allen said that the Gorre and Daphaetid was not plausibe, but he was stuck with it. Interesting comment from him, I thought. Here is my roll by for this weekend. It is a covered hopper switcher. Notice the single fuel tank in the SD7. I didn't make that; I thought it was a good, prototypical thing to model.
This will be my first roll-by post. I have about 6 square inches of scenery so far but that was just enough to get this going. Here goes. Scott
WOW, I just got home from my all day therapy & figured I'd start the topic.I'm glad you guys couldn't wait.Maybe we'll have record posts this week. Well here's mine for the week.
I put together one more vid of a rollby. The "Texas Special" Go to my page in Railimages, 2nd page, at the bottom. Click on the icon, and then click on it again to download. Mike
Hey Russ, Really nice detail on the whole train. Scotty, Love that bridge. Wolfgang, Very nice. Flash, Nice unit train. Carl, Very nice weathering. Paul, I've got to get down under to see your layout. MKT, For some unknown reason, when try to watch, all I get is the sound. I'm sure it's on my end,'cause everyone else says its cool.
I use real player. You probably need to download a codex to view it. Check for updates for your player. Mike
OK, I've got two strikes. I'd better put this one in play... Sorry to waste bandwidth... I added aaw.sized.jpg [ February 04, 2006, 04:24 PM: Message edited by: Colonel ]
Scott: The loco and cars are very nicely weathered. What did you use on the trucks? Stay cool and run steam.....
Bob: The trucks are painted with Polly Scale Grimy Black. I then give the trucks and wheels dabs of rust colored chalk. It seems to go where it needs to go all on its own. It is a pretty simple 2 step process which has worked for me. Thanks for the compliments. When I get a little more scenery done, I am going to go ahead with building a replica of your sound system. Scott
Scott: The sound system is easy to replicate and quite effective when you use four inch Radio Speakers and the Soundtraxx DSX sound only decoders and now the Soundtraxx Tsunami decoders. Stay cool and run steam...
Another great bunch of roll-bys this week. Wolfgang, really like your tresle it's awesome. Scott really like the grubbed out Conrail unit. The concrete steet and bridge work looks great also. Here's mine for this week. BAR 21 an ex ATSF GP-7r heads back to the yard with emptys from Houlton. [ February 05, 2006, 02:48 PM: Message edited by: MEC_FAN ]
