Interesting question. It depends a little bit on which of my teenagers is around. My son and I prefer contemporary country while my daughter prefers rock. Of course, nothing is better for running trains than to play Willie Nelson singing "City of New Orleans"......

Those two HATX units--904 and 913 are usually the power on the Plano Rock Train. You might hear them on the "Range". How many engines are there at the Sherman depot? Anyway, I'm going to Luckenbach in a couple of weeks and I'll have a Shiner for ya!!

On the way there, it'll be George Strait, Stevie Ray, Waylon (of course) and I'll mix in a little Clash--Rock The Casbah!!! Have a Frisco day!

There are right now three dead Geeps (TNER GP9 25, Georgia & Alabama GP7R and Digno GP7R) and Digno GP40 4016, ex-N&W hi-nose diesel, still all-black.

The two diesels assigned to work local shippers (IORY GP40 4050 and DGNO GP38 3836) are based in Sherman.

Down a long spur, the sole remnant of the Katy branch out of Denison, is a flour mill which is served by Teener and switched by a SW900 leased from EconoRail. The Teener tracks are on the west side of the flour mill (where the grain hoppers and boxcars (used to ship bag flour) come in), while on the east side of the mill is a remnant of the original Frisco mainline (whose switch connecting it back to the SP line on the north end is out of service), which holds Airslide and pneumatic covered hoppers for outbound bulk flour- flour also goes out by truck. With the onset of wheat harvest, look for lotsa flour to be made!

Motown, Duwop 50s and 60s. But for real train music, I think Jimmie Rogers has the best. Try "Will There Be Any Freight Trains in Heaven?"

Yep, that's my drivin' music as well! [IMG] Makes that commute back & forth to Paris go nice.

As mentioned earlier, the so-called "Mandatory Train Tune is played every time a train passes the studio (or close to that time as possible). They also plug a place called Love & War in Texas, which is across the tracks from the Wells Fargo Building.

And, KHYI was named Best Station by the Dallas Observer- it beat out the classic rock stations, the New Age crap, the rap stuff, and most importantly the pseudo-sorta-psycho-syncopated "country" stations!

Operation Ivy , they have a song called "Hedgecore" which is great while laying ground foam lolol.

Rancid is great too, or if I feel like relaxing I'll put a The Specials' record in.
