First new engines for quite a while now. Quite possibly six months or more. Was worth the wait though: about $100 for the pair and the SD already has DCC :-D Score!
Picked up two new pieces of rolling stock a coal bathagon and car parts box car. Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
Just purchased this Heritage 2-8-8-2 from Trainboard member John Colombo after posting a while back that I was interested in one with sound and DCC. John had exactly what I was looking for. Thanks John!! Also thanks to all that offered to help as well! I feel like a kid at Christmas... can't wait for it to get here! View attachment 53292
Hmmm...the last thing I BOUGHT was a package of 1000 Remington Large Pistol Primers. Oh, it has to be model railroad related?...I traded a bunch of IMR reefer kits for a 2nd run Athearn Challenger with smoke deflectors that will get renumbered to a 3700 class, oil-fired Challenger to be a end-of-train helper between Ogden and Wahsatch on my modular layout. Here's the new "trade" being tested on Echo Curve near the U.S.Highway 189 underpass...can't wait to replace the MRC POS decoder with a Tsunami...
I ordered 10 or 12 Japanese freight cars to go with my JR D51 2-8-2. They were shipped from Japan yesterday so I should get them in about 4 days.
Stopped work on my late 1800's logging railroad and just set up a new 55" x 39" base. So now, I am purchasing Kato Unitrack to fit to the new layout...
I picked up 2 n-scale balsa airplane kits, a Cessna and a Beaver float plane. Kits are by a Canadian company that I picked up at a great hobby shop outside Niagara, ON, Just Train Crazy. Great kits. The Cessna is done and the Beaver is ready for the spray booth. Substituted a small clear plastic circle for the prop on the Cessna and will hang it over my layout. The Beaver will go on a T- Trak module with fisherman. Dave G Cache Valley & Northern RR
I just spent a small sum on some Tomix (Tomytec) stuff for a future harbor area. 2 fishing boats, and two packs of fishing port workers. Also ordered the Public Pier kit and the Bounty seafood kits along with the Dockside details kit. Even though the structures are Japanese based they will fit right in with the Pacific Northwest locale.
I was happy to pick up a Bev Bel decorated B&M Atlas/Kato RS3. I have been trying to collect all of the early N scale B&M stuff and, as far as I can tell, research says that this was the first B&M locomotive offered commercially. It arrived today and I was a little bummed to find the handrails and a set of steps broken, but I located a new set on the auction site for $2.99 a pop and ordered two just in case, fortunately the steps and handrails are one piece on this locomotive. Check another off the list, now to track down a Bev Bel (Life Like) B&M F7A...
I ordered the BLI DCC/sound UP E6 A/B units ... won't be here till June... I t may take me that long to find a foto of the two units ...
Plan to bash it into an NS high-nose. I liked doing it so much with the first one I decided I needed another!!! $50 "NIB"
Picked up one of the recent Kato ATSF F7 Blue Bonnets that have appeared on eBay. And, last months MT Meat Packer series refer.
Well I ponied up for the new Kato ATSF Super Chief set and the MaxiStacks. Sent back the Yellow Bonnets, just did not like the color at all.
