What do they have written on the back regarding their 'era'/when they were around? I'd love to pick up the set, but would be rather silly to spend the money if I can't realistically run them
They are currently running as they were modeled after the prototypes pictures. Check the MT site. Thanks Mike
hey...........I can reply to this, cause I bought some track with my giftcard to wholesale trains (birthday was the 20th). I bought these things: 12 pieces of 11 1/4" radius curves (bachmann EZ track) 2 right hand remote switches (also bachmann EZ track) 10 pieces of 10" straights (bachmann EZ track) I know EZ track isnt the best of track, but its almost all I can afford due to being unemployed.........heck I still use DC (but not with the cheap hobby transformers, I use a MRC railpower1300 for that )

Newest locomotives arrived today. An A/B set of Hallmark brass f/p Rio Grande F9's. Added MT couplers. Installed a set of 1015's, instead of the suggested 1023/25. Find the 1015 fit perfectly! Don't like the position of B unit coupe though. But, that's where it mounts. Can't mount farther back, without some modification.
Since these are pre WWII with the Auto car dates to 1917 and the weathered car built at the Omaha shop 1942, I could not resist ...I plan on using the Challenger and Express Service ( matches the overland paint scheme some what and both were built in Omaha shops))cars on pax runs and the occasional fast freight. The Pepsi car is one of four they used for advertising , this one is one of two that has Pete exclaiming the worth of a Pepsi is a dime but # 2 exclaimes it is only a nickel . The weathered car is just released from MT ... ain't this hobby grand !!!!! If anyone knows where I can get the #1 Pepsi car , please pm me !! thanks Paul
If I could mount farther back, I would. Mounting hole for coupler leaves it sticking out as seen in photo. I have NO way to mount farther back. Will try and get extra photo(s) later.
Met a friend in Denver Saturday, and picked up 6 Trainworx trailers. Got 2 Rio Grande, 1 RG motor way and 3 Coors. Nice loads for the BMLA flats , or for scenery vehicles, once layout is done. Trailers are very nicely done! Just need the Trainworx flats to arrive eventually!
I just picked up an Erie Lakawanna Intermountain F3B so I could put the mech under a Northern Pacific F7B shell I had purchased a short time ago. The Pine Tree F7 will look neet with my F3 ABA Loewy scheme. Now to find two A unit mechs to go with my Q F3 shells.
I model transition era, but could not resist GE ES in Southern heritage. I also try to avoid 50' cars but leaped at the opportunity to buy Exact Rail waffle cars. I installed a TCS decoder in about 2 minutes and it performs very nice.
I tossed my budget for the year and bought a NIB Bushmaster M4 w/ UTG dot scope and 480 rounds of .223/ 5.56 Nato.. My #2 daughter wanted know what it was for ( she is 33 , thinking I would let her use to hunt ... and got her first deer at age 17 ) and I told her I was gonna build a garden rail road and take pot shots at the cars with this rifle .. ( I have two now and the first one is for collection this one for shooting ) ... so she says " Is the Bushmaster for hunting in the bush ? " of course I said, sure is .... that's where the old decrepit box cars hide .....
nice bushie!!! i got my old sweet 16 from dpms Now back to trains i just bought 8 more blma cefx reefers
What are your thoughts on the waffle cars? I've had my eye on a couple of the southerns myself but have yet to pull the trigger
I'm all for them and bought 6 when they first became available. They have sharp detail and paint. For a long time they were only an HO item.
Just received two CRI&P VO1000s !!! Already broken in, just gotta' do handrails and M/T s !!! Going to Dupage show on Sun, so I'm hoping for a VERY long list soon !!! Paperkite, I use my M1 Garands with no scope, so I need brightly colored cars !!! A MUCH bigger bang , ya' know ??? The Mauser 98K doesn't do too bad, either !!!
