A pair of Micro-Trains ft bulkhead flatcars found on TB swap meet. Already weathered and with wood decks added. I want to see if I can duplicate this effect on some others I have.
Been to two swaps last weekend and one this week end. Atlas Delaware & Hudson 2 bay covered hopper, Delaware Valley New York central 3 bay covered hopper, Intermountain Bell Oil 8000 gallon tank car, Micro-Trains Delaware & Hudson 50' boxcar, Western Pacific 50' gondola with load, Red Caboose Norfolk & Western 40' boxcar, Pacific Fruit Express 40' reefer, Vintage by Deluxe two pack Monon 2 bay covered hoppers, unknown, The Rock 50' boxcar and West Bend Elevator 3 bay covered hopper.
Some 3D printed trucks and lawnmowers as well as some autoracks, coalveyors, and trailers from Dave Hughes here on the Trainboard swap page. Everything was very well packed and in great condition. Basically new. The autoracks make it around my 11” curves and are super quiet thanks to the cotton Dave put inside-a great idea. The coalveyors will join my trash train with some scrap or C&D loads once eventually. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Post human delivered a wee package today. Yippee! Paints and primers - now Moose has to get moose-hiney in gear and set up spray booth: Water tower kit for Oban yard:
8x sets of RPS trucks. As part of the Atlas buyout (I think?) it looked to me like they were selling off inventory at a significant discount, so I bought twice as many as I should have. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Thanks, just ordered me a few. Curious to see the quality for that price? They look good in your picture?
In2-sent a PM with the contact info I think you were looking for. For $15/box of 2 trucks, I’m very happy. From what I’ve seen, a good unpainted 3D print job might get to this level of detail at the about the same price. It looked like RPS usually go for much more than that if you can find them. I tried to take a couple of photos below but they don’t do them justice. You can make out all the lettering on the DPW truck, and all the badges, latches, lights are done up right to my eye at least. If I really really really hunt for flaws-I guess the windshield wipers aren’t black, they are the body color. I’m going to have to mount the side view mirrors myself for the service trucks because those aren’t already installed (but do come with the truck). It doesn’t already have a license plate so I’ll have to put one of the n scale decals on. And I can’t read Ford on the grill badge (but I can tell it’s blue)-but to catch this last part, the truck is almost touching my eyeball I’m so close. So very happy with these. I ordered a Class 44 loco quite a while ago which was originally scheduled to have been released November of last year. Still awaiting delivery and each month that gets set back another month (currently now at March 2022) but just got the certificate of authenticity for it today lol.
Alright my very first Full price Atlas #6 Remote switch. Thanks everyone for the information on #6 switches and why to use them instead of the Standard ones. I never knew that info. And some more WS Just Plug Wooden Street Lights, and some very tiny people in N Scale at a good price. Not great quality but for the price and the amount I got to spread out on the layout. Now hopefully I can do some wiring and such for the Weekend modeling thread on Friday? Might start tonight or Thursday night! I forgot to add, bought from the local Hobby Shop!
Bought some of that .50 cent paint to day at Wally World, Yellow & navy Blue, for my Jersey Blocks & my temporary water as the cheap stuff I had left over, cracked and it did not go well. Decided to wait for some more research on water.
Got my RPS Vehicles in early. Very nice, I think the white one has side mirror's to install. This should be interesting. Think I am going to order some more? They seem very nice for the price. They are way more realistic then my 3D printed pickups. I can't paint that tiny stuff correctly, or even close to look like these.
Unlettered N Scale Athearn BigBoy. Now, IF I can my eyes to somewhat(?) cooperate I'll get it lettered and somehow, numbered!! Although, with my eyes now, after cataracts, I'm not even sure if an Optivisor would help! With or without glasses.
Sorry to hear that Keith. After cataract fixes in both eyes I can see perfect out to arm's length without glasses. If anyone has to have this done they can work on your long or short vision and make it better but usually not both. I would still need glasses for long vision so had them fix the short vision. One eye now is good at real short to half way out to arm's length and the other from there to arm's length. This also really helped in welding. The negative is I now loose my glasses since I don't use them much for short work where before I had to. If you have to have cataracts operated on check with the doctor to see what your options are. I have similar issues with my right retina. It used to be my best eye but then it got damaged. I had injections followed by laser surgery four years ago. Then a year ago the vision faded suddenly. So back to injections with only slight improvement. I've been told they can't do the laser surgery again. So it's for life. Right eye is blurred for especially close in. So the magnifier only works for the left.
