Gloor Craft is the one I remember. Besides the REd Caboose all door, I don't know of any others either! Nice find.
Although NOT N Scale, I recieved an HO GBW bay window caboose. Walther premium line, for $21, including postage! Brand new. Matches my Walthers HO ALCo FA set, which matches the original builders photo of the locomotives.
Scored at the LHS... Actually found eight 3 car sets of Athearn ethanol cars, 5 sets UTLX and 3 sets Procor.. And 6 single cars half UTLX and Procor. They were kinda hidden behind other stuff.. But there mine now.... Lol
An Illinois Central SD40-2 by Kato. I've seen the prototype in CN Lang yard (Toledo) and now I can run the real thing! Getting it for Christmas!
Could it be possibly a custom/kitbashed car? Looks like a 40ft boxcar someone just bashed with 4 plug doors per side. The door track that is not even an 1/8 the length of the door to the left kinda makes it look like something someone bashed together with spare parts.
Nice. I have one too - they were fairly common down south when IC rolled out the Death Star. It looks to be a kitbashed 40 ft all door. Either someone wanted the 50 footer and grabbed the wrong car, or they had extra doors. It looks well executed, so why not slap some MOW stickers on it and call it good?
A big box of parts from Kato. For my second Kato E-5 that came with no skirts I picked up two new trucks with skirts. 929094 and 929104. For my Texas Special passenger train I bought new trucks as the old Rivarossi trucks literally have the wheels worn off them. The truck side frames are so worn that the wheel sets came right out the top. Kato undec PA shells are on sale for $5 each.
That looks like the Thrall all door boxcar from Red Caboose. I have a few of them and they are prototypical. Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk
Except that the Red Caboose car is 50'. Unless the angle in the photo is deceiving, that red car looks 40' to me. I'm thinking it's custom. Cheers, -Mark
As far as I can tell, it's not actually a Red Caboose car. For one thing, it's too 'old', and definitely appears to far older production than their production line. It is an 'all door' boxcar of some sort, but not the specific version offered by Red Caboose. It also does appear to only be a forty footer, I believe. I may need to take a picture of it with a Red Caboose car for illustrative purposes.
I am enjoying the Bachmann EM-1 locomotive; I purchased two. Now that I have seen and heard YouTube videos of them with sound installed, I am investigating that option. I have other B'mann DCC steam locomotives and am very pleased with them. No steam with sound at this writing.
Nice haul indeed. The SRE parts must have been a great find. The supply for most of these has long since dried up. The PD hopper looks nice, but I was hoping for the Whitewater Building Materials car (in Grand Junction, CO; near the home of Trainworx). Oddly enough, TW didn't release this owner at all. They have 2 kinds, orange and gray versions of this car (unless this car is incorrect for this model). I'd buy the orange one in a heart beat if they'd release it.... Pat..... http://rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=2884590 http://www.railcarphotos.com/PhotoDetails.php?PhotoID=51185
That is a sharp looking hopper, surprised Trainworx didn't do that one. I always try to buy the SRE parts when I can. SRE left such a huge void in the detailing world when they closed up shops.
I just got these out on the layout and I have to say that I think they are the most well done weathered Micro-Trains cars yet. I think they look fantastic. Mike
Hard drive died the day The Board got going again !!! So, besides a 1TB hard drive, I have picked up both Kato NW2s in BN, custom painted M/T 2-bay hopper and 39' tank car in IAIS, Red Caboose coil car in IAIS, and FINALLY found M/T US Navy set #1. Now I just gotta' get my Angry Birds goin' again !!!
One of my clubs had an open house this weekend. I picked up a life-like proto heritage 2-8-8-2 in PRR. Also picked up a light mountain custom decaled for GN. Both are going to end up as WP just. We need to build a tender for the 2-8-8-2.
