Very nice looking layout with lots of details to view on your Hispanic themed layout! Thanks for sharing!
Nice layout! I have been wondering what you've been up to. Great paint work and weathering! Definitely has a southwest feel. Get around to the Harriman 4-6-0 yet? Scott
Steve, The box car is great! - But that crossing signal and gate really caught my eye. Nice work!!!! Lance
Where’s the TACO BELL? You need a TACO BELL. I have a friend that has a friend that knows a guy on TRAINBOARD that builds TACO BELL’s…. Otherwise, love the “Southwestern flavor” going on here. Very unique and cool.
Thank You! No, the Harriman project has to wait. There is still a lot to do to finish the trackwork. The tracks from El Paso/Tx ( staging) to Van Horn / Tx (staging) are finished, but the line to San Antonio/tx ( staging) has still a gap between Marfa/Tx and the staging yard. The youtube video gives an overview.
Ingo, WOW! Excellent layout and wonderful video! A lot to look at! The scenery looks wonderful and I like the removable roof on the livestock building. Those are some really beautiful scratch built buildings you created. I like the church in the small town. The pecan grove and processing plant are a nice touch. Thanks again for the tour. Scott
Outstanding rendition (and a pleasant trip the country sides). I am glad you have all the time to study and replicate so many of the structures and locations. Your paper map tour was interesting. Where did you get the map, as it has realistic terrain details.
I concur with Scott, amazing layout. You really captured that wide open space feeling and the towns somewhat lost in all that. I also appreciate the way you blended well known classic kits from Kibri, Artitec and others and Americanized them convincingly Matt
I really enjoyed the West Texas Project video, the layout is fantastic. I enjoyed seeing several of the models I produced for MTL on the layout too, that's always fun. I wish I had a big layout room like that.
Oh my my my! Everynow and then you see something and say so well executed and built! Truly phenomenal!
Thank you, Jeff! Today, I looked through all my maps and couldn´t find it. . It was obviously an all-american road map as I could see from the city index and the speed limit information. A roed map which comes very close, also with geological "shadows", is the "Texas Official Travel Map" from the Texas dep. of transportation.
Finally bought some AZL stock to fill out my 1915-1930s era steam. Running my dad's ISM tank engine. Locos being tested and engine swapped in the back ground. Scott
Those tank cars and wood brace boxcars are fantastic! I’ll admit I’m the worse at running proper eras but boy it looks great when you see it!
This week's project was taking a stock AZL GP38-2 and jazzing it up a bit. I installed the plow front (included in the box), cab air conditioner, windshield wipers, sunshades, beacon, coupler lift bar, various antennas, the "TUCSON" cab lettering, then weathering it using various mediums. It was a fun, realxing project.
That was the easy part, AZL includes the front pilot with plow as well as a truck without coupler box with the loco. Steve W
