Photograph of NS train 37G heading into Louisville, KY 6/13/04. We've been getting some rather colorful consists running through lately, how 'bout ya'll? Let's see some pics.
You needed a BNSF in there for a perfect straight.... which still beats two of a kind! Anybody got one of those? All four class 1's, plus a CN or CP for good measure? And to think I used to get excited when an NS unit would show up in run-through service on ELOI in Conrail 80's days........ or when I spotted ATSF U36C's on BNSF near Alliance.....
UP is about all I see on the Monon anymore. If I see a CSX unit I'm gonna think it is a foreign road.
With the profusion of runthrough power, not to mention the rent-a-wrecks and other leaser engines, it gets harder these days to teel who really owns the railroad you're standing next to. Such is 21st century railfanning.......
but at least it's a variety!!!! better than just 2 or 3 different things. it's always better to mix it up!
The TFM still has some of these old paint jobs and KCS is bringing them up over the border. And this is on UP tracks yet.
Hey Red Rock, are there any semaphores left over in your neck of the woods? I think it was the old Monon that still had a few left a couple years ago.
Great photo Russell! I haven't come across any in my journeys Don. I'm still rather new to the area, so I can't answer your question. If I do ever see any, I'll post photos of them.
UP train with BN "Greeny" in the consist. Remember when UP had clean engines? Then they took over SP and started running their engines over SP tracks. Somehow the grime must have jumped up out of the ballast and coated the Borg Yellow.
I thought I'd try to catch a photo of this CP potash train, hoping to get a cowl unit maybe, oops no red at all. Darn!
I photographed this train last night (6/19/04). If it wasn't for all the green around I would think I was back home in Tucson.
Caught some power heading back west 7/9/04. This was a NS train hauling a very long string of empty autoracks.
Nice shot there Mr. Train. Here is a Norfolk Southern westbound train, but you wouldn't know it by its' looks. 03/10/05
Nice shots txronharris!! We are going to need a new topic started for that last shot, "who's yard is this?".
O.K.... I want to play: A pair of BNSF locos basking in the Charleston, S.C. sunshine (on NS rails near the port) Harold
