Now THAT would be a cool unit to see!!!
A F45T-2, now that is a cool/colossal locomotive. I can see SP owning some.
I wonder if the concept ever came up.
You gotta like it
BN SD40-2 8032 and four companions lead a mixed freight near Denver during the early 1990s (Bob Jordan)
BN SD60M 9242, Denver, CO, Mid-1990s (Bob Jordan)
Green weenies! Back then, that was boring, now it's classic!
That last unit in the consist looks like one of those B30-7 B units. It has no cab.
I'd love to see that in a cropped, full resolution view, because I thought that too.
It is one of the B30-7A units, I just neglected to mention it.
Three of the four SD60ACE demos (9500, 9502 and 9501) are at the head of some coal near Denver, circa 1992 (Bob Jordan)

Very nice. Looks like either paint doesn't adhere to stainless steel very well, or the paint shop prep didn't get done well enough...
Way back then, I saw many of those repaints, up very close. Some looked as though they'd simply used a paint roller. Also, I have written about the poor primer work, in past BN topics.
Two more shots of BN 9942, both at Denver in the early 1970s (Bob Jordan)
That would've been great to hear those E's on a grade, chuggin' away!!
BN E8A 9942 is coupled up to the cars of the San Francisco Zephyr at Denver during the early 1970s (Bob Jordan)
BN E8A 9949, ex-CB&Q 9949A, Denver, CO, Early 1970s (Bob Jordan)
I can almost hear the throaty roar of those twin 567s....
