The You Tube & Virtual Railfan must have settled their differences. Barstow, both East and West RailCams are working. Nicely I might add. Interesting sunrise over California, this a.m. Tehachapi both at the restored SP Depot and West Cable appear to be working. I think I can safely conclude everything normal... and working nicely. I know you thought I was going to say something else.

    Later!

Welp, if you got that, then you’ve for sure got crap on your system Rick. With all the pop ups, pop unders, and virus laden ads on websites these days (even legit ones) it’s no wonder. I’m betting you’re using Windows also.
First get a good adblocker download3d but not installed. Then Try clearing the cache and cookies on whatever browser you use, and even try downloading a different browser. Before going on the web again install your GOOD adblocker.
You can’t afford the risk of allowing websites to put ads on your screen anymore, because they won’t manage them themselves and vet them. They sell ad space to someone who resells it, and then they resell it to an aggregator who resells it to a conglomerate who resells it again etc and then the ads wind up with one or more out of ten being virus infected.
Figured I’d offer my two cents since I’m tech support by trade.
And here’s something to lighten the mood.

Last night decided to check out the Barstow web cam for the first time, and what a nice surprise it was to see Amtrak's Southwest Chief pausing at the station, then slowly departing, lit by the platform lights. NICE!!! (and you know how much I love "nighttime" shots, Rick!)

I did the same thing about a week ago. Pretty awesome when the camera actually turns so you can look down where the passengers depart to catch a smoke and then watch as they board. I used to sit and watch the Santa Fe passenger trains and mail trains arrive and depart. Watching Amtrak is almost a glimpse from the past.

Finally, a note from Virtual Railfan, over on another website says they've had problems with their live feeds and although most are back up and running there is still some technical difficulties they are working on.

    Good for them.

Sunday, and everything appears to be back to normal. No more pop-ups and I won't allow anymore.
    Thanks for the heads up.

How are you blocking their pop-ups?

    How am I blocking pop-ups?

I don't allow them. Go to settings....

I went to the extreme and performed a (I will say this wrong) factory recovery. The system shut down the present windows program and restored it back to the old one. I then waited until they restored the computer. That booted out all the pop ups as most of them are something I 've approved and added. Then I had to re-do my bookmarks. Saved my personal files. Went back to Mozilla as my main browser. There I'm allowed to make restrictions on what does or doesn't show-up on my screen. Made that my primary or default browser. I don't or won't save my pass words anywhere in this computer. And...so far so good.

I made the mistake of allowing a worthy (is there any media out there that is worthy?) news program to put up news alerts. That just gave them permission to put anything they wanted on my screen and they did.

The problems with my computers in the past, is the more programs you add to it the slower they become. I would set up to go to a particular website. Making requests of the computer. I could go to bed and wake up the next morning and finally get to TrainBoard.com. Slight exaggeration but not by much.

    Thanks for asking.
