Look who stuck his nose up!!! Long time since you posted. Good to hear from you. Actually I think the salt in the French Fries would react with the Nitric Acid and cook them that way )
Here's a shot of the coupler extension I etched today. Testing so far looks good. I may need to etch in some folds for minor adjustments, but it's close. Worked out the geometry on the new underframe that has the bolster part of the framework and it's really solid. I'll post shots of the art later tonight. Cheers Joe MTL
Nice little work station you have there, Joe. Is the tape sticky on both sides? Uhmm... Any time to work on my UP B-unit shell? :tb-hissyfit:
Nice looking coupler adaption Joe. But I think that the tracking may be an issue when used without transition curves. I think the coupler swing will be greater than the truck and also out of sync. Are you planning on having it swing beyond the corners of the car (no stirrups ?) Maybe the hole where the old coupler was may have to be enlarged. .
Alex, Joe's schedule is so full I now have to have my secretary call his secretary to set up an appointment time with him..............) Loren
no problems on corners...this is just a hybrid 1019 we use on our N Scale 89'. In tests so far they made it around the track. More to follow Joe
You already have a double piviot...the bolster and the coupler Knuckle and Lip shank. I should have a few of these together by tomorrow and will take some shots. If anyone has one of our 89' N scale cars you can see how it works. but, you never know ) Joe
N scale ? Something wrong with your keyboard or do I have to turn my head sideways ? 89' is only 65' in Z so that coupler should be swinging free. Interested to see pix and. Results of 100 lap figure 8 test. M
Yep. These were great for working out geometry. From these basic cars, you can go in a lot of different directions. Joe
After doing some work on the bench I started surfing before be and though I would share this you you all. Needed some low boys for carrying heavy equipment over the rail so here is a heavy and light low boy in Z scale. You can probably figure out the origin of the parts. Just a easy one night project with 4 flats to start. cheers Garth
