Chris - When you say cement, do you mean a concrete dry cement powder or something else? ...and then just dry brush it on and then Dullcoat.

These smaller than normal cars were used in cement service, 50 cars built in 1934. There is scale drawing along with an article to model one in O scale back in the Aug 1975 MR.

So I just used a grey/tan color to look like the powder that might spill:

The paint I use is from craft stores and like $1.00 a bottle:

I have "Drizzle Grey" and "Mudstone" that I use a lot. There are many other natural colors to choose from.

Here is another old photo taken with a webcam:

The big car on the left is the Kato car I started with:

The dry brushing will stay without Dullcote, but yeah I probably gave this a shot of Dullcote.

We have received word that our 2nd MTL run for this year will be arriving soon. In preparation for the new cars, we have decided to discount the remaining DT&I sets we have in stock. We have dropped the price $5.00 per set. Supplies are limited. To order, please visit: Ztrack Center: Special Imprint Cars

We will have more information on the new Ztrack exclusive MTL run very soon!

Note, you do not have to be a Ztrack Magazine subscriber to order. These sets are available to everyone. Also, Ztrack is discounting shipping and handling charges for these sets. Though online ordering will quote a higher cost, actual s/h to the US is $8.00 for a single set, $11.00 for two sets.
