sounds like a scam to get more money if it doesn't sale for what you want........... I think I will pass this one up also. Tho I would be interested on what they charged for shipping on the item as opposed to what they actually pay to ship it...
He hasn't responded and I really didn't expect him to. Maybe this will be the one that breaks his 100% rating. By the way, I'm breathing easy!
Proof that miracles do exist! After emailing the seller about the fact that the "train set" (I'm using the term loosely) was unpowered, he has changed the listing to make it clear. Anybody with any knowledge about N scale trains would be aware of them being unpowered but what about relatives or friends thinking that they were getting a great buy on a nice gift for someone. http://www.ebay.com/itm/southern-pa...384?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1ea168e280
Yes, I got an email from him stating that anybody interested in N scale trains should know that it wasn't powered and that it was clearly stated as being a toy train. That's why I pointed out that some people wouldn't know and might think they were getting a great deal on a gift. Plenty of people call model trains toys.
"Please note that as the value of the package goes up shipping charges go higher as well". Well, I use that policy when selling, at my own seller's expense. A lot of my items are older stuff I don't need. I at least see that there are trucks and wheels and usually old Arnold Rapido couplers on them if that's how I have them. If wheels, couplers, etc. are missing, I replace them though not always with exactly the original trucks, etc. And I have a bunch of old jewel cases for safer shipping, but not original. So no great collector's treasure. And I often offer at 1970- 1980 prices. $2 to $4 for a boxcar etc. And ship CHEAP. Charge USPS First Class package with tracking. If somebody has to wait a week for auction to end, why should they pay a premium to get it a day or two earlier? If bidding should happen to go way above what I expected (pretty rare), I may up the shipping quality to priority at my own expense, or if really high, pay for extra insurance. If that's humorous, well laugh at me.
It should be specific and say "as the value of the package goes up, the insurance charges increase". The value of contents does not increase the postage itself. An item which costs $5.oo costs the same postage as the very same item at $500.00. By noting "insurance", there can be no question or confusion. Postage and insurance are actually two different things.
Hey, old Woolworth sale stickers! I remember those! http://www.ebay.com/itm/N-Scale-Rol...723?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1a0307d563
I was thinking the same thing that it is awful high for broken damaged and not running as they say in the ad........................
Someone really needs to tell these people that Labeling ancient N scale as "Vintage" does not magically convert junk to gold.
I have a Vintage Mortgage and I definitely do not want it to increase in value-- not after paying it down all these years Meanwhile... anyone want some Mehano traction tires? http://www.ebay.com/itm/MEHANO-SPAR...LH_DefaultDomain_205&var=&hash=item1a0316cb2b
But wait, there's more... I tried to ask via eBay message, "Don't you mean $6.75 shipping, not $675.00 shipping?" of this regular seller on this item... http://www.ebay.com/itm/Con-Cor-N-Scale-Apliance-Warehouse-675-/191592133219? and what I got back was:
