6 Arnold engines (4 F's, 2 0-6-0, 2 electrics) "LOOK TO BE IN EXCELLENT LIGHTLY TO MINT UNUSED CONDITION WITH CUBE". Whats a cube or is that slang for some kind of drug? http://www.ebay.com/itm/ARNOLD-N-SC...794?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3f4fbc860a
A lot of...junk. "Nice estate find" http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lot-of-N-sc...222?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1c560b9256
Would love learn about that "cube". Whatever it might be.... It must be worth about $350.00 of the total price.
That's a sweet little scam Paypal has. Basically, you can apply for a line of credit that is only good on ebay. Then like it says, if you make payments in full in six months, there is no interest. The scam part is, once you set it up, "pay with Paypal credit" becomes your default payment method for each. and. every. purchase. So if you're not paying attention, you can rack up unintentional additional charges. Then, say you make $300 in payments on a $500 dollar purchase, and up pops that one of a kind brass loco that you've been looking for for ten years, and heyyy you've got that credit, so why not... and on and on it goes.
Nice. Real nice. I wonder if I could get a reverse mortgage on my model RR stuff. They give me a percentage of what it is worth and when I kick off they get it all. Saves the family the time and effort of selling it all off and I could probably get a better price for it than they would.
What would happen if we started to "make an offer" on some of this junk? Say like about $5.00 for that uncompleted layout.
But this is not a Japanese bullet train. It is a Taiwanese bullet train. What ever that is worth. I am not aware of any other Taiwanese prototypes in any scale. But one could buy a lot of model RR stuff for $5,000.00 (with DCC too).
Thanks to eBay's "similar listings" I see there are a number of layouts out there. Some of them more closely approach a reasonable price. This one isn't bad for $500 with the equipment included. http://www.ebay.com/itm/N-scale-train-table-and-rolling-stock-complete/271922277409?_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851&_trkparms=aid=222007&algo=SIC.MBE&ao=1&asc=20131003132420&meid=9b155d06d0b14267b5b940e902c5deb5&pid=100005&rk=1&rkt=6&sd=390882954386
Door sized layout. Price is much closer to reality. But the statement "...not going to post the stock so don't ask what i have" kinda stinks. A turn off, rather than a selling point.
I agree with boxcabE50 about the rolling stock. Buying used Layouts can be risky ( poor rail joints, dead spots,ect...) In my opinion the rolling stock can be the deal maker or breaker. If the value of the stock can cover some defects in the layout.
Saw an Ebay listing for a bottle of "Instant colorant" called "Burnt Lumber" I zoomed in on the label and sure enough it was 'burnt umber'. Got a little chuckle out of it. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Instant-Col...691?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item35edbb0a13
From the pictures I can see a MDC 2-6-0 and 2-8-0 as well as an Atlas VO-1000. Rolling stock (both cars that are visible) are an Atlas hopper and caboose. Also three heavyweight passenger cars and a track vacuum. If I was local enough to pick this up, I would ask to see if before bidding and check out what there was. Seems like an ok deal...so what's it doing HERE?
Aside from the poorly considered "don't ask me" they posted, just as a nice break from the usual ridiculous offerings.
Exactly... just to illustrate that not everything's a "reverse Crazy Eddie"... for those of you who remember those ads... for those who weren't in the New York Metro in the 1980's, this is the electronics chain which had the tag line, "His prices are INSANE!!!!!" Most of what we post here is INSANE all right, but not in a positive direction. Speaking of which, this is worthy of mention: http://www.ebay.com/itm/KATO-UNITRA..._DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3f500af0d4#shpCntId
But, wait, there's more! Caught this one "just in time" http://www.ebay.com/itm/KATO-1-150-...436?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item20fdb16f1c
