Buzzsaw herald YES!! Dak truck...no. The truck belongs to one of the miners, I took the pic from the comapny parking lot. I am a JEEP man all the way
Thanks Hemi. I have posted a few pictures from this overlook in the past. As for the tunnel it sets just east of the siding. Someday when I have more time I'll try to get a train coming out of it. D&RGW 3100 really put out the smoke when she first started to power up from the siding and then it lightened up as she got moving. I was doing 55mph and finally got far enough ahead to catch the shot from the siding. Ben
Today my son and I headed up to Glenwood Springs to catch U.P.1989 pulling the Operation Life Saver train. While waiting in Glenwood Canyon we caught this east bound coal train led by U.P. 7235. Ben
Even by Colorado standards! :tb-tongue: Thanks, Ben, for the great pictures! I'll link to your album again to show off your work.
I really like the paint job...normally I don't like their "retro" jobs but that one is great. Awesome shots!!
A Grander Shade of Gold Me too. My biggest fear was that they would try to strike a balance between Grande Gold (aspen gold) and Un-ion Yellow, or worse, try to equate the two. :tb-shocked: Thankfully, I understand they went back to paint chips and got a match. :tb-cool: My hope is that it doesn't fade too quickly. Looks from your shots that she's staying beautiful so far.
Here's a few shots of the only U.P. action that my son and caught this weekend. U.P. 3423 approaches Clifton, CO pulling a string of covered hoppers. Ben
