Yeah. Would be even more believable with a starting bid of 99 cents. Myself, I'd not even look at it for parts. Bleh.
They tell us "VERY NICE USED CONDITION-A LITTLE DIRTY". Doesn't this seem to be a little bit contradiction?
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lionel-No-4...107?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3aad0e524b How hard is it to look it up? Flyer, not Lionel. 420 is a 2-4-2, came WITH a tender. Croshead guides. Pistons and crosshead, Main and side rods. Brass headlamp. Flyer builder's plate on side of smokebox. Look it up, complete with tender, 50-70, so 20 plus shipping for something that requires...50 in parts minimum, and what do you have? ANOTHER clueless split loco and tender seller to increase PROFITS! But, that's just an OPINION. Dave
http://www.ebay.com/itm/O-Scale-Lio...758?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1a025aad66 and for 34 plus shipping, you could buy a Lionel 259E WITH a tender from someone who DOESN'T split them up.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lionel-O-Sc...Car-NEW-BOX-/281742512528?hash=item4199299190 382, plus 27 shipping, close to 410. Still listed with MSRP here at Lionel: http://www.lionel.com/Products/Finder/ProductDetail.cfm?ProductNumber=6-29858&CategoryID=517 For a full MSRP of 320. Is the seller named Barnum? I could be reading the Lionel page wrong...but USUALLY when you can't get it or out of production, there is no price listed. Odd. Finding other listings for that specific MSRP and less on The Bait. Opinion. Dave
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Lio...046W-Tender-/281742512533?hash=item4199299195 Might be a Canadian thing. Maybe dyslexic. Lionel 756 4-8-2 Berkshire. Got the Berkshire right, and that's all. Photos do show it to be a 736, and a 2-8-4. Shell with no no dammage. Tiny paint missing Front boiler with water tank (Not original) Fences are perfect Front light illuminate Has a 665 Hudson boiler front (with Elesco). Needs a strip and repaint, minimum. In that condition, about a hundred US. Drivers filthy, rollers...okay...front tender needs at least a heavy wire wheel application. NO idea what "fences" are. Or what tiny paint is missing.... OPINION Dave
http://www.ebay.com/itm/VTG-Lot-of-...037?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3f4eb1aa95 Now here we have the bottom of the box. Seriously. Wheels and axles missing. Couplers missing. You like the (originally) red 6462 long gondola? How exactly would one fix that again? Cable reel someone literally took a bite out of. Boxcar missing a door (at least on one side). Track...the 027 curves are so rusty, probably not worth messing with. Then there's what, an 027 style 054 single curve? The kicker is the upper left corner curve. Super elevated, non-stepped, three tie Ives. Both cabooses destroyed..ends and corners snapped off....some of the stuff is Scout, with the original POS non-compatible couplers. Twenty five bucks plus whatever shipping they calculate. Nothing there worth salvaging. Carefully stated as Opinion. Dave
That was forty bucks plus shipping and then you get to find the fiddly bits to put it back together...and here you can get the same series in an observation COMPLETE for 15 plus shipping. Makes you wonder..aloud and often... http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lionel-Post...301?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1ea108342d
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Set-of-2-Vi...520?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1c558d3008 Scout. Original trucks and couplers. Bets he sold the engine separately. BIN of 40, 15 to ship. Must be some collector somewhere who wants a tin tender only and the cheapest single dome, cast-in handrail tank car made. 5 for the pair. And no, I don't need anything like them. I like the 3/4 of a box that seems somehow to add "value". Opinion. Dave
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lionel-Trai...791?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item540ffb623f BIN 600 for a single unit.......I never paid 1/4 that for a postwar 2343 ABA, but that was then..this is "new improved". Scroll down a bit to this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/LIONEL-3458...178?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item51d30c3b5a BIN 596, A and B, in factory box, sealed. Both Legacy. Gee, which one would you choose? Your opinion, not mine! Dave
http://www.ebay.com/itm/L-63-11-18-...amp-Post-Station-Bulb-Free-Ship-/350499721588 Private listing, $14.75, free shipping. Compare: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lionel-Post...241?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item43dcaad9d9 Twelve of them for....$585 plus 15 shipping. Works out to fifty bucks a bulb. I think I'd be trying something else for a bulb..... OPINION! Dave
http://www.ebay.com/itm/RARE-Postwa...778?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item541996b80a Variation C: This common factory error is the same as the B Variation except the holes in the roof walk have not been filled in. Common Factory Error. http://www.tandem-associates.com/lionel/lionel_trains_6050swift_box_car.htm All yours for a BIN of 575 (for a solid door, small, 027 auto box...which I always found highly amusing...double door auto box, lettered express reefer, with no icing hatches) and whatever they calculate for shipping charges. Be the first one on your block! Swift - Produced in 1962 and 1963 and is the most common car. http://www.postwarlionel.com/cgi-bin/postwar?ITEM=6050 Their opinion, not mine! Dave
Just like so many who leap first and look later, I have money to burn, so I'll go with the first one. Ha ha.
