Weird. Hmmm. I'm hoping they just goofed and uploaded a wrong photo. But we've also seen enough attempted deceptions in the past....
http://www.ebay.com/itm/LIONEL-POST...-BOX-INSERT-/351536120720?hash=item51d92f8390 The one nobody really wants. Tin chassis, plastic tub/toolboxes in one piece. $350...and the really high sellers are getting 12-80 tops. http://www.postwarlionel.com/cgi-bin/postwar?ITEM=6119 Opinion. Dave
Found this under the old tractor in the barn! If they gave it to me, I could see a couple of parts to salvage.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vtg-Pre-War...89T-Plastic-/171954357479?hash=item28094744e7 Probably another one of them "break up loco and tender for more PROFIT!" sellers. Can't tell the difference between metal and plastic. "This seller is currently away until Oct 13, 2015, and is not processing orders at this time. You can add this item to your watch list to purchase later." Good planning, since the auction ends in 7-1/2 minutes. Over 20 with shipping and no loco..pass.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/1978-LIONEL...AR-RARE-CAR-/141780484284?hash=item2102c680bc Rare. So is a boil on my...never mind. Cheap plastic, repaint unit if you had to have one. I don't know anybody who collects convention cars. If I did, half my attic would be empty. $2500 plus shipping. Even shifting the decimal two places left is too much. Maybe there is a sucker out there who just sees "rare"? Opinion. Dave
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Super-1957-...et-Box-only-/111787639946?hash=item1a0710048a Box only. With shipping on BIN, 2530....
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lionel-2383...l-and-Dummy-/191490357916?hash=item2c95b6fa9c He's joking. Has to be. Probably the least desirable post war F unit..2383, vertical motors, blanked portholes, louvers, no separate cab ladders, no sideframe ladders.....and it isn't even very nice...plastic horns and all. Grand plus shipping...BIN only, no offers. Opinion only. Dave
http://www.ebay.com/itm/LIONEL-2333...EST-SAMPLES-/221768339876?hash=item33a26c51a4 NYC F unit shells. Claims "test samples" with an unreadable blurred photo to prove it. Looks like tape. Paint peeling, no trim, needs stripping and repainting to be anywhere close to usable. Bottom one looks like it might have the dreaded black plastic bow to it, but with only one photo, hard to be certain. A grand at BIN, but FREE shipping! Observation. Dave
http://www.ebay.com/itm/LIONEL-275-...ACK-PLAYOUT-/271994172733?hash=item3f541db53d (NEVER USED AND I DO NOT CHECK DETAIL THE OUT AND BACK LAYOUT) No, but he asks close to a grand for an old ZW and some Fast Track. Did they legalize that funny smelling plant in Kansas? Opinion. Dave
I suppose photo 2, the one all out of focus and blurred, what looks like a piece of tape on the top of the shell. I can put a piece of tape on something, write something odd, and claim anything I want to, I suppose. For a grand, he'd best have letters on Lionel letterhead signed and dated.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/1990s-LIONE...-Signal-4pc-/291577042818?hash=item43e3589782 Something is amiss in the space/time continuum. Forty bucks. Maybe it's because he thinks it's 1990's vintage? Other than shipping, that isn't bad...especially compared to the stupidity of late. Opinion. Dave
http://www.ebay.com/itm/400-Postwar-Lionel-Budd-Car-B-O-No-reserve-/111788133578?hash=item1a07178cca 'splain something, Lucy. "No Reserve"....but a starting bid of $140. Looks like a $140 reserve to me?
