Just a quick primer for this evening, we just unveiled Bob's lumber mill road. It looks fantastic.

Set up the truck chip loader:

    And from the other side...

I'm sure there will be more later. M

More from tonight's work session. Bob began the process of adding gravel to the approach roads and the shoulders of the lumber mill road.

Doug and Scott collaborated on the SE corner, and were finally able to get a coat of Knights Armor Gray on the last section of unfinished fascia.

Yours truly added the mortar to the brick building, leaving the weathering as the final step to the exterior.

More next week, thanks for checking in. M

Nice job on the woodchip facility. Looks a lot like one near Ashland, VA! JMS

Thanks John, not familiar with that facility, but have been through Ashland. My in-laws live in Kilmarnock. M

If you get on US 1 and head north(towards Doswell), the road does a S turn across the tracks(CSX RF&P Sub) and the facility is on your left. JMS

Tuesday's work session saw Wain's return from Europe and he went straight to work on the golf course adding real dirt and ground foams on the landforms.

The camera and flood lights really show the glue floating around the ground foams.

In this pic Wain puts our new mini vac to work. The best part of the Black & Decker 1410 is its strong suction and reservoir for lifted material. It allows us to save the dirt for reuse.

Doug continued his work in Renton. Here he is creating a paper template for the site of a parking lot for City Hall.

Ed worked on getting our second dimmer switch in place for our lower deck lighting. It runs back to the second of our 300W transformers.

    Looks right at home there.

Bob continued work on the lumber mill road. He put caps on the abutments which required some fine tuning of the roadway. We'll detail that next week. Rey continued his work on the flat cars; they are simply spectacular. Scott hit the chooch walls with several washes of color and we are excited to show those next week too.

    Thanks for checking in. M

Lots of stuff happening last night on the RGW. Wain was rockin the golf course including the out-of-bounds stakes. First was the white paint, then drilling holes for the boundary fence.

Then it was the distinctive red top most OB stakes carry.

He also started putting in trees along the picture backdrop.

Bob began adding details on the lumber mill road. As we stated last week, the end caps were put in place, this week shrubbery. Also more gravel on the shoulders.

Scott's retaining walls looked like this after last week's washes:

Then this week he added more detail in the rock formations, a tedious job, but very well done!

There's plenty more, so look for the next post.

Wanted to highlight Rey's flatcar work. His efforts are amazing. As we detailed before, he takes apart the bolster and rebuilds them, with the intent to lower the car to proper height. He uses a lot of styrene shapes to get them back to working order.

    A perfect fit:

Here are shots of the in process car against a finished version.

He is a master car builder. We're lucky he's on the team.
