I ordered some numberboard decals from MicroScales web site, so as soon as I get them I will get the numbers in this units numberboards.
Next week hopifully the numberboard decals will get here from MicroScale and I will add them. Finish the decaling, hit with some dullcoat, and this unit will be done.
Jerry, the weathering job is AWESOME! I expecially like how the fuel tank and trucks look. Great job!
Thanks Denny! I applied Bragdon chalks with a micro brush to get the weathering effect. Very easy and very effective. Bragdon chalk does not seem to 'disappear' as easily as others when dullcoated.
I like the SD7 it looks better every new pic. Now its time to hit the sd45t-2 with some weathering on the roof
Again, great job! Thanks for sharing the photos and the tips. Do you have any pics of the weathering process? If not, would you shot some if you weather another loco?
Looks Great! I m working on my own SD9 4409 right now , could you post a detail shot of your behind the can " sheet metal work" , I am stumped on this point at present.
Pakman, here's how I did my SD9E. I cut a piece of styrene and glued one end down, keeping the other lifted with a toothpick. When the first side dried completely, I moved the toothpick to about the middle so the styrene wouldhave a curve to match the cab, and glued the other end down. I had a small weight hold it against the body.
Once it was dry, I painted it to see how close it was to the correct curve...pretty close, so I was happy!
