I also missed the part about Micro Trains body mount couplers. I think BLMA is already doing that. I am sure several will follow in time.

M-T is doing a high sided 4427cuft Pullman Standard 3 bay hopper. Body mounts and correct ride height are some of the features. There's a thread on The Railwire about it with a picture of the announcement from the convention. They also commented that they are now carrying all the body styles in undec for those that like to roll they're own..

OK, I went ahead and started a thread about that to try to divulge all my secrets.;)

Feel free to ask any questions in that thread and I will see if I can figure out what I did.

    Oh good, another covered hopper:tb-err:

I would have liked to see some of their older cars retooled with body mounts, correct height and up to date finer details. Oh well, I guess I can use more covered hoppers and it is a sign they are getting up to date with their thinking. The undecs are good news.

you might not like the fact that they are releasing another hopper ...

but the 4427cuft hopper has only ever been made by Walthers back in 1996 or so (and was crude compared to some of the stuff released today) ... BLMA and Exactrail seem only interested in the 4000cu ft hopper (not that this is a problem) ... and not the 4427cu ft. I for one welcome this release ... as it is different than the other hoppers on the market.

Since pigs can fly now...) I have been looking at what we can do to get them lower, but all our cars come with pads to use body mount couplers. I hope to start testing in a few weeks and see what we can do and what the cost would be to switch over.

    Cheers

Thanks for listening MT. After all us "squeaky wheel" passenger car nuts have been pestering you for years, we are now reaping the rewards. I am happy.:)
While shopping at the convention I picked up one of the new MT Pullmans. The only one I could find at the time was in Empire Builder paint so it has already made a quick trip through the paint shop. This name shows up in a few of the Santa Fe passenger consists that I have.

Good to hear, we'll leave it in your capable hands. In the meantime keep turning out those heavyweights.

Speaking of the N Fox Valley Hiawatha....

I was at Des Plaines Hobbies today (7/12/10) in Des Plaines, IL.

There were test shells of the upcoming N scale Hiawatha there.
    Have a look!
