I'll be taking the Greenlight Intermodal Promos and the N Scale Intermodal Store to the Houston convention. We should have some Special Runs ready by then !! Should be a Great time to visit some layouts and get reaquainted with a lot of folks. Hope to see you there ! Steven
Unique Layout Arrangement on Tour I want to plug one of the H0 scale layouts on the tour. There are only two and I am not sure which one this is, but maybe Russell Straw can help. This H0 scale layout is in a two story home. The thing is, the layout is down stairs and the residence is upstairs! The layout covers the entire downstairs area. (How's that for an understanding spouse!) I'm looking forward to seeing this one.
That would be Don Bozman's Great Northern Railway. Awesome HO layout. Don has been involved in N scale a lot too. I seem to recall that he was one of the first members of Houston N Crowd.
The other HO layout, Gil Freitag's Stony Creek and Western, is also really nice and a must-see. Quite honestly, I've seen almost all the layouts on the tour, and they're all must-sees.
It's coming soon. Any more news? I have to get through the local Lone Star Region convention June 2-6. Then I will get to the N scale convention in serious fashion.
I will be there and look forward to it! My wife will join me half-way through the convention, so I need to find a place for horseback riding somewhere close to Sugarland to keep her entertained whilst I play with trains Cheers Dirk

I intended to go to this convention as I loved Louisville, but I am doing a 260 km cancer fund raiser bike ride the preceding weekend, so I don't know what sort of shape I'll be in by Tuesday! It seemed better to pass! David
I'll be there. Hope to meet up with several of the trainboard members. I'll be splitting my time with work and the convention. Since it's in my backyard I would be remiss if I didn't attend. I had a blast the last time it was here in 2004.
Oh... by the way, one HO layout I certainly would not miss is the Great Great Northern Railway by Don Bozeman. Definitely worth the trip. As mentioned by Russell earlier, Don is a great supporter of all model railroading and a superb modeler.

I didn't see a contest category for non- railroad N scale vehicles such as semi trucks. maybe that is not an appropriate category. Will there be any display of these vehicle types? Anything like that? Thanks.

Just got on the internet in the hotel lobby. Vehicles are being entered in the contest as "dioramas." It is a popular vote contest anyway, so doesn't seem to be a big deal. I opearted on Gordon Bliss' layout last night. Great ops layout and a good time with a bunch of great guys. Got home at 1:15 am; out today at 6:15 am for breakfast and the layout tour. Some some good ones including Gordon's again. Welcome party is next and the room sales tonight. John Sing is here so I am sure there will be some pictures posted soon. Missing you.
