eBay is such a big part of railroading life for those computer-abled that it's surprising to me that it's not a more frequent topic. Wherever a discussion goes in any post is anyone's guess, and it's okay by me so long as the basic question or topic has been answered/ addressed. It does that here on TrainBoard.

So yeah, BFD (IMO) if something just brings a big price, Mr. Porkchop notwithstanding. But I took the original post about him to be a warning about something potentially fishy. It may or may not be so, but a heads-up is always appreciated. And merits discussion.

And this thread also went off into another item. Fraudsters are a fact of life and here we have two fake calendars (made from timetable covers, with nice shiny staples on otherwised aged paper among other factors) exposed for what they are. Perhaps the seller may not know. It's still fake, and IMO calls into question what else that seller is offering (there's a lot of potential fakes in what else that seller has going). A newcomer I think would appreciate this info and would at least (hopefully) tread with caution on starting up with eBay. We see so many that don't.

eBay generally chooses not to do enforcement of its own policies in favor of profits. Few state-licensed auction houses could get away for very long with what eBay does not do.
