Coal Loads order some coal loads from Motrak models for the Coalporter, and I am very happy with them. They have real coal on them, and they have the full load on them. I wasnt happy with with other supplier because it doesnt look full. The fit on my loads are just about perfect. The loads are held by the pressure of the sidewalls. I can adjust the look of the load by pushing the ends up or down.
Post Comparison Photos John, post some comparison photos of ALL the different coal loads!!!!! Hobo Tim
Hi John, I think you faced the same issues as me. The ends have to be linished a bit (remove access on the top) to make the ladders square. I wonder what happend to the hatches at the discharge chutes? I think I know the answer.... This is for me the only frustrating bit on this kit. Such great etched parts, but those parts are plactic casted and EXTREMLY fragile, should be eteched like on the FR PS-2cd. I have adressed this to Eric, but no response....
Not that I'm "mutated" to be CSX fan , just a weathering experiment with a CSX car I had left over...
Nice job on the weathering. Randy always tell me that its not CSX if the cars are cover with grafitti and grime.
I have not been adding CSX rolling stock in a while, so I repainted a AZL cover hopper. To my surprice, the walkways are photoetch.
Ok, somebody stoled my David F's GP40, and it looks he wants a real one instead. At least he has good taste in color scheme. 'Loco' Thief Steals CSX Locomotive From Siding - cbs4.com
i saw this and wondered "the other GP40 is stolen now too?" good to see it wasn't john's own, and that the real deal was recovered. somebody's buns are going to be in the fire for this. whew. dave f.
That actually a GP38-2 and the idiot that stole it was a customer at my local train shop. When I went there yesterday they show me the newspaper article of it. Thank god that no one got hurt.
A customer at your LHS??????? Aren't you joking?? Anyway, maybe a guy tired of 1:220 and wanting to model and to run 1:1...:tb-wacky: Dom
he's in trouble, no doubt. but the company must be fuming that a loco could be taken that easily ... AND DRIVEN AWAY! some local foreman or supervisor is going to catch heck for it too. it sounded like something a rail fan would do, or a clueless employee figuring he'd take the "company car" home and bring it back the next day. i don't want this customer to get beat up on the board about this, but if you could let us know a little more about WHY he did it, it would be interesting. thanks, dave f.
