That was the nicest black diesel scheme. Just the right amount of lettering and trim paint.

Nice line up Paul! I think I like SD40T-2 better... as only DRG&W and SP had them(before that "We will Devour" Railroad showed up! JMS

Here are a couple of Tunnel Motors that started life as plain old undecorated Blue Box kits...I put some work into these. 5382 profile.jpg 5404 profile.jpg

Here we have a builders photo of the D&RGW 4-8-2, 1553 with business car Silver Lizard (my nick name is Lizzard) The loco started as an IHC Mountain, which my friend Chris Hawkins cut down the tender and scratch built the dog house. He also paint he boiler green and added the decals. He built the Silver Lizard from an Athearn round roof coach... 1553 and Silver Lizard.jpg

Thanks Dale, HA this will stay BN LOL.
I added the sunshades, windshield wipers, AMB glazing, Air dryers with piping, bent up the piping to air tanks, bell, bent the brake cylinder piping and installed, radio and ETD antennas, eye bolts, horn, beacon, snow plow with MU hoses, coupler cut bars, added sand hoses. lets see, thats about it I guess. Oh yea the step lights are all lit up, used Richmond Controls light kit, with a strato beacon.

Thanks everyone who replied, it was a fun build.

In this shot, we see D&RGW GP35 3048. This loco is unique in the Grande stable, as it is the ONLY GP35 to have received the large Rio Grande image on the flanks of the long hood. After it was wrecked near Swan, Colorado in 1970, it was sent back to EMD and returned with the Large Rio Grande, as well as the angled inertial filter "dust bin". It's seen here with the leased unit from the South Western & Pacific, 2006. Below is a caparison photo of GP35 3048 and 3036...[both are Athearn models] head end power.jpg Athearns GP35s.JPG

This is an Athearn body with a OMI drive. There were 3 demonstrators, 9997, 9998 and 9999. The numbers were changed latter. There are a lot of differences between the demonstrators and the final product. Regards, Bobby 127725244_12a1cd094b_o.jpg

Here is my old Kate GP35, it needs some work to back date it to early 70's but it still runs flawlessly.

Oh and I apologise for the abomination on the track behind it, I didn't notice it there until I made this post...
