Some of us need to take time off work and/or school for this, so how about we nail down a date soon????????
The only large scale trains I am aware of around here are very close to me. Lake County Metropark's Penitentery Glen. There is a live steam club that runs there but only on holidays and some selected Sundays. A pretty impressive layout that meanders around a really beautiful park. As far as a date to do this, I'm pretty much wide open. I'm here and will try to accomodate.
Well.... I expect to be in Ohio Sept. 17-21; Expected to head for Oklahoma City on the 22. Rats!! Just noticed that means I'll miss that Ntrak event you mentioned Herman.
There's a train show in Toledo on the 21st. Anyone want to hit that? If not, I'd say Friday the 20th would be the best for me...
How about meeting me at my place in Concord on Friday the 20th and then going railfanning someplace like Berea maybe? I'll drive! Sir_Prize, whereabouts will you be that week around here?
Hmmm... Well if ya want I can get you; or you can come to Hinckley and we take yours to Berea; or you can come to Hinckley and I drive us to Berea (then you can rest before headed home). Sounds like I'll be in Berea in the morning and then in the mid-afternoon I'm taking off to do some shooting on the B&O down by Lodi. From there I'll head back west along CSX.
Maybe we should all just meet somewhere in Berea that morning. Sounds like the easiest way to go for all of us.
Herman--Sounds OK to me. Brian- Lodi? My dad grew up there. Got family on his side still up there somewheres. That's where I saw my first "working" Steamer and a derail. The two events were a few years apart, but the same place. Boy... Memories flying back with that town. I'll e-mail ya both with my cell number.
Great town, ain't it, Ken? I haven't been there since March, so I'm really looking forward to that part of the trip. I'm a huge B&O nut...

I've got a friend from Olmstead Falls tenatively meeting us in Berea at the diamond at 0900, so I'm planning on being there sometime around then.
About a half hour and then I'm on my way!! As the song says, "...I don't have to be me till Monday (9/30/02 )..." I will be taken pics and video.
