I can't top that. I appreciate the slide show. It brought back memories of a logging railroad I used to watch out of Sonora, Ca. Nothing like those short lines and lumber companies. Celebrate the 4th of July in grand style as we visit the Nevada State Railroad Museum for one of their annual steam ups on July 4th, 2014! The museum brought out two historic steam locomotives and their very unique McKeen motor car 22, all from the Virginia and Truckee Railroad. The 2-6-0 "mogul" type engine Glenbrook was also out on display. After visiting the museum, we travel up to Sparks, NV to watch the July 4th Fireworks Celebration there. As always, enjoy!

I would like to know more about the famous "Corkscrew Trestle". Maybe Rick knows something?
Here is a train pulling with it's guts. North Shore Mining RR in Minnesota:
Here one from LTV in the same region as above. Love the sounds of those old F units, chanting away:
Mullan Pass, Montana. Grinding it's guts out over the mountain. At about 1:25, you can look across the valley and see the length of this train:
You must have better hearing than mine. I just watched it again, (using headphones), but couldn't pick out anything odd.
Nice capture and I wish there had been more footage of the trestle. Alleged, a very unhappy employee, who had been reprimanded severally if not terminated. Went out and set fire to it. It was red tagged requiring new construction as per today's building codes. Unable to make that happen the railroad appeared to be destined to close. A grant from a private party was extended to the miniature railroad allowing them to build the switch back now in use. Don't I wish, there had been money enough to rebuild the old trestle.
I was wrong once and then found out I was right after all. Thinking the same thing Champ uhh...errr...Dom.
If talking about the loud "pffft" as BNSF 9802 passes, no that isn't engine related. It's part of the air compressing system.
Here's one more on the Roaring Camp & Big Trees.
Interesting thought here. I love this time of year, the cooler days and nights, the wonderful colors, and football. There's a great game on TV right now. What am I doing? I'm watching Rick's latest contribution to this topic! Says something about where this hobby stands for me.
Thanks Ken. No greater compliment then to have a football fan watching one of my contributions here on TB. During the game?
You aren't alone. I got bored with the game I was watching and wondering why the million dollar players can't play better football...then that. Oh well.
