Just to add some more fuel to the Big Boy/Allegheny discussion. I found the following documented concerning the weights of the two locos. It appears that perhaps the Big Boy was the heaviest after all.. When Lima completed Allegheny No. 1600 in November 1941, it calculated the weight “in working order” to be 775,330 lbs. but reported it to be only 724,500 lbs. (the C&O had a 726,000 lb. weight limit). Then in 1945, when the Virginian asked the C&O to deliver its new AGs at 753,000 lbs. and the C&O initially declined because they were too heavy, an embarrassed Lima rolled Nos. 1600 and 1630 back on the scale and this time reported 770,910 lbs. and 771,670 lbs. respectively. Thus it appears the 45 wartime Alleghenies weighed about the same as the Union Pacific’s five Big Boys of 1944, long recognized as world’s heaviest locomotives at 772,250 lbs.
Make sure that you place the URL within the brackets by selecting the image option below your signature box. You have to use the UBB code options. Hope this helps So it should look like this..... [ 07 August 2001: Message edited by: bnsf4354 ] [ 07 August 2001: Message edited by: bnsf4354 ]</p>

Tell ya what fellas, if I can trust one of ya'll to get this thing on my sig I'd be happy to give you my screen name and password, but after it is installed you must destroy or forget the password.
UP----I know what you are going through here because I couldn't to get it to work until fitz put it on his site. What ever you did to make it show up in the message is exactly what you should do in your signature----but I am sure you are well aware of that. You could go to fitz's and copy it from there using the same steps I sent you and just put the URL between ( you will have to type these img things in by hand) in your signature. I would love to help you further, but I don't want to know your login info. One other thing to try is....take out all the lines you have in the signature now (save them somewhere for later) than put the big boy in. So type and see what happens. If that works than it probably means that we can only put so many characters into the signature box. Other than that I am plumb out of suggestions at this point. UP, I share your frustration. I was going to suggest that you pull the image off my site, because as long as the site is there, so will be the image. I looked at your source code and see that you ARE using my site as the source. I think I see your problem. You are using html code when you should be using UBB code. The differences are very subtle but have devastatingly different results. Where you have put <img src> blah blah </img>, replace that with . Note the SQUARE italics. That's what works in UBB. The other alternative is before posting your message, use the "IMAGE" option at the end of the message and type in the source code, which is "http://www.pioneer.net/~fitzrr/UPbigboyr.gif" (I'm not positive of that gif title. I know you have the right one in your code.) Just to prove that it works, I'm going to add it at the end of this message.
