I really doubt the price is going to come down on the Riv. Like said earlier, it's only going up. I'm excited about it, I kinda weighed the decision though between another P2K and the Riv. I model N&W, but I'm sure that the C&O can intersect somewhere. I finally picked my spot to model; Norfolk & Western Rwy, Radford Division, Christiansburg District, Fall of 1955. I'll be modeling a portion of it from Walton, Va east to Roanoke. This ways I can have the "Tennessean," "Powhatan Arrow," "Pocahontas" and some of the Blacksburg branch trains. Also long coal drags and time freights. I'm still in the "Homosote Plains" stage right now though. Regarding the gif, I'll get it when I have a bit more time. I work nights, I start at 5pm and go until around 3-5am depending. So I'm usally pooped when I'm on here. But anyway, I'll stop babbling. Happy modeling!
Watash, EEEEWWWWWWW YUCKY!! A Pennsy 0-4-0!? NO WAY! HA! I'm going to get rid of alittle of the reading on my Sig. though! I just have to get a EM-1 #7600 GIF though to replace the Big Boy, to go with my small picture of the EM-1 #7600! Then I'll be happy!
Signature should be alittle cleaned up now! HA! I like the EM-1 #7600 photo better with the GIF! If only the GIF was a EM-1 now..... Hmmmmmm...
Guys, every once in a while the software devil makes me go learn something new. Check this out. Parade of Locomotives
Don't know if it'll show! But anyways it's a HO Big Boy weathered like the real one. Some guy by the name of Jim Booth did the work.
That is a great weathering job. Watash, to view those little gif locos standing still, go to my website. Link in the signature.
Fitz, Nice work on the Steam loco parade!!!!!! Sadly you don't have anything B&O, C&O or WM! Shame on you.. HA! But the challenger and the Big Boy make up for it! Nice work man! Also great web page you have a decent way to show everything. Unlike alot of web pages... Just one page and your done. You invested some time and I bet some money in your web page!
John, thanks for the kind comments. I enjoy doing that stuff. It keeps my old brain alive. Will be adding some more locomotives to the parade, but also learned some more: 20th Century and Daylight [ 13 August 2001: Message edited by: fitz ]</p>
Fitz, Your welcome! It true though if you look at alot of web pages they are very simple!! Yours is complex in design.. Thats what makes it great..... Keep up the brain work.. It shows the quallity you put into what you do... Hint, Hint.... Choo choo's.... HA!
UpBigBoy, Thats a great picture of the Riv Big Boy. It looks real. I wouldn't have known it from a real one if it wasn't for the edge of the layout its on!!!!! Thats some great work that fellow done!
We haven't said much on this in a while, so I'll post. The guy I pre-ordered my Riv from, is offering 16 more I think at a price of $340, shipping and Ins. included. He's on E Bay, mhamrick@pmncbridges.com. I'm sure he'll hook you up.
Jeff, I'll have to look that fellow up!!!! I think I can handle $340! Concidering what the amount is to be!!! THANKS!
John, Look him up. $340 is a bargin compared to others. I ordered mine at $315 earlier last month. Let me know if you can't find him.
Does anybody know if the Rivarossi 2-6-6-6 TENDER will have electrical pick-ups from both rails and how extensive will the warranty be? The predecessor Rivarossi warranty thru Modelexpo reads!Defective parts will be replaced FREE of charge within one year, but No Labor
Jeff, What was the down payment or holding price value on the Allegheny??? What type of deposit is needed? I want to see if I can possibly work this into my budget.... I am definately going to have me one of those monsters.. Freight trains beware. longer and more motive power.. The more the Merrier! And this one is a good addition to any collection ......
John, No down payment needed with this fellow, very easy to work with. Once your order is in on E bay, He'll call you to get your credit card info. Then he will keep it on file until engines are in his shop, then he will again call you to let you know they are in. He runs your card and bam! out the door goes a great engine to your doorstep. Shipping and insurance are included in the price, one more reason why I chose his price. I'm not sure if his auction is still up on E bay. Let me know if you can't find him, I'll give you his work number. I remember him saying that he could order like 16 more or something. Jeff
Jeff, Looks like I have bad news. I won't put any of my credit cards online. I had one online and had alot of headaches and all and I swore it to never happen again after I got it straightened out and the fellow being fraud on me. Not saying that a bussiness done it but some how some way someone got into my personals on my ibill acount and ran my bill up without my consent and it happened to be a complete stranger to me and to the ibill company... That takes me out of the game so.... Oh well oneday I'll get my chance I guess...
John, if you really want it, get the guy's address and send him a cash down payment. Last time I looked, checks are still accepted by banks and snail mail still works. Some &*^%$%^#$%@^ got my credit cards off the net and I will NEVER use them on the net again. So far checks and snail mail work just fine, as they always have.
