Share your photos of the Derby City Express! I have set up an account where anyone attending the convention with a digital camera and computer/internet access can share photographs with the rest of us. You can view, download, and upload photographs at this address: .Mac Web Gallery Please include a title and your name. Limit all photographs to those taken at the Derby City Express and related events. If you experience any difficulty please let me know. This is the first time I've used .Mac for this and I'm not sure how it will behave on other computers, but if you just click on the Upload or Download buttons, the directions are pretty simple to follow.
The pictures are coming up fast! Lot's of great stuff so far. Feel free to upload any convention related photos to the site. Paul
Paul, Thanks for the picture hosting. Great pictures have been posted so far. Is there any way to change the sort order on the site? I can't find any user selectable options for it. Sorting my most recent upload would make it easier to go back and check on what has been posted since the last time somebody looked. I think it may be alphabetic now but not really sure. Maybe I am just not doing something right. BTW- No big deal, I know you have a few thousand other more important things to be doing right now. Hope to catch up with you sometime Saturday.
Not to be too overly paranoid.. But I'm not sure it's such a great idea to be posting those house pictures, with the address right there for all to see
Valid point, DiezMon. I agree with the need to always do our utmost to protect security of the generous layout owners who shared their layouts with us. I always do my best to avoid house address visibility. I tried to delete the house photo with the address visible, but I don't have delete authority. I'll try to get it deleted. Thankfully, no street address or town identification of any sort is in the photo. Thx.
Woop.....it's back..... kind of like my Bachmann Fairanks-Morse H-16-44....it cannot decide if it's going to work today or not. imagine that...
Have uploaded my Thursday photos from the 2008 NSC and National N Scale Convention. For me, the day was action-packed full from morning to night. Meeting great people. Having my mind expanded every minute. Bob Knight's (TrainCat) clinic on building brass kits blew up my mind (that's good) on what is possible. Great contest entries. NTrak layout is being built, 700 modules worth. Room Sales superb for visiting and socializing. Visited with Charles Hopkins and saw his latest custom loco painting. The pictures above represent sample of all of these and more. I have also uploaded these to Paul Down's collective web site of photos of this convention, again, that URL where you can see photos from *many* attendees. This is great because my photos only represent one small cross section of all that is happening. See that web site at: .Mac Web Gallery Enjoy!
John, did you mean to add your link? national_n_scale_convention_2008_thur_june_26 Photo Gallery by atsf_arizona at pbase.com
Thanks to everyone who is posting. I wish I could be there. I'm going to write a blog post about the gallery.
Awesome photos :tb-biggrin::thumbs_up::thumbs_up::thumbs_up:- sure makes me wish I could be there to enjoy all the fun in person. Unfortunately I can't make it, but this sure inspires me to start planning for next year!
Posted Friday pictures to: n_scale_convention_2008_friday Photo Gallery by atsf_arizona at pbase.com and to Paul Down's collective web site of photos of this convention, again, that URL where you can see photos from *many* attendees. See that web site at: .Mac Web Gallery
Posted Saturday pictures at: n_scale_convention_2008_saturday Photo Gallery by atsf_arizona at pbase.com As far as announcements, in the above pictures, you'll see that: - Athearn is displaying pre-prod models of their N scale FP45 and F45 - PCM showed real pre-prod models of their PA1, so apparently project is moving forward - Walthers / Lifelike had pre-production sample of Y3 2-8-8-2 running, sounds pretty good to me! I'm sure there are many others, but these are a few that caught my eye. I also posted the same pictures to Paul Down's collective web site of photos of this convention, at that URL you can see photos from *many* attendees of the many many great activities going on. You can see that web site at: .Mac Web Gallery
Excellent job John Sing you are without a doubt the Official N scale convention photographer,They should pay you just to attend!!! Fantastic!,Thank-you for taken the time after a long day to post your pictures, It is very much appreciated Paul Downs A big thanks to you and all the un-named people who have donated their time and hard work to pull this convention off. No I was not in attendance but through the power of the internet I can see and appreciate the work it took. Congratulations to all involved.
John, Did you happen to get a shot of the Atlas Dash 8-40C? Atlas has a pre-production unit setting in their booth, my camera was dead by the time I discovered it. The GP15's looked great, much better than their "Trainman" labeling would suggest.
Oh, I didn't know the Dash 8-40C was there, Skipgear. I'm going back over to the convention center now, I'll look for it and get a shot if I can.
Couldnt help but throw this one in. Bought this at the convention and got some nice guys with a C&O module let me run my new Chessie Steam Special. And thats me watching my new baby.
