Chris: Thanks for the tip on the solder. Will use the solder for piping from "feedwater" heaters on steamers.
Don't have any new projects but I was photographing some stuff on one of my modules for an article. This is Train 21, an intermotal/auto from Birmingham, heading west across the James River.
This shot reminds me of Blueridge, Virginia when I drive out from my in-laws in Roanoke and try to do some railfanning there. I know there is a track hidden along the road there but it takes some boony stomping to get a good shot.
Beautiful work guys. It makes me feel not quite so homesick. Tony Hammes, that's a great backdrop. Is that your own custom job or is it pre-made? If it's custom, what did you use to print it? It's funny that every time I am thinking about the handling of a part of a layout, someone is covering it. Bridges, backdrops, narrow areas and nuclear reactors. (just kidding Pete) Although when I get going on it, I'm going to have to post a question about how you "rough up" the water.
OK, here's a belated photo: July 1947: a brand new set of Santa Fe PA-1s leads the 'Grand Canyon' in the high desert of Arizona: Great work, all. I just got back from two days vacation; will be out of town this coming weekend as well; keep up the good work and I'll post next time I'm in town on a Sunday. (smile)
