Rev. 2 off my second laser building is soon finished, and with just some small details more to work out I'm happy with this one I think.
Torsja, no more scratch builds ?!?!? Looks like you figured out the rastering mode. I see roof material in the upper left. .
Thank you guys. I had to try to paint the prototype to night, just to se how it may look in the end. I have made a few small upgrades to the drawing and hope to soon be finished with the final version.
Looks like a good use for the tax rebate. If you can't afford the gas, buy the station. I may add a tank or 2 for the LP or bottle gas.
BN paint Got a couple more decals sets finished... Will be updating the website to offer new decals sets soon...
Hi Eric, do you print the decals yourself (ALPS) or printing service? BTW I have to order from you...
Eric, Get all of the decal sets you have available listed on your website, I'd like to order some of the kits and decals but the decals are not listed, at least none for the 3 bay hoppers. Bob
I am trying to find the best placement for the traction tires. When the traction tires are on the front axle, I get good traction going reverse. When install the traction tires on the rear axle, I get good traction going forward, but bad traction going reverse. I am testing a new congfiguration. I install a tractio tire on the front and rear axle to see if I can get good traction going forward and reverse.
You'll just give up reliable electrical pickup. The flanges could make periodic pickup but not enough for reliable pickup. A well riding truck with weight on it shouldn't need traction tires. Plus, a consist should make all the difference in world to pull a 20+ car train, especially metal wheeled rolling stock. .
john I think you have a good idea there, but again I can see the problem with electrical pickup. If the traction tire gives any lift, then you might loose contact with the other wheels.
Jeff, my layout had grade and tigh curves, so it can cause fun operating problems. We are talking about a SD70, so it its very light. Without the traction tires, I dont think it will pull much. Joe, I think with a six axle engine, you can afford to lose some electrical contact. I wouldnt do it on a four axle engine. Kim, the center axle is not powered.
Somewhere on one of these forums about a year ago, someone posted a video showing truck rotating/lifting depending on which way you were going. I think the Laws of Physics was partially at fault. ...don
