Nice wok Ben. Never notice how big your thum is. On a serious side, how about making a modern caboose. Hopefully some for a CSX guy.
Not sure yet, they take too much time to assemble, thus the reason I'm developing some jigs and tooling for faster assembly, I don't know, If I'm satisfy with the final results I may throw one or 2 on Ebay. Hi John, unfortunately CSX scheme is not part of my plans.........for now, maybe next year, I'll have to see how those projects goes. Ben
Hi Ben, Great looking cabooses Ben. I'll take 1/2 a dozen when you get them ready to go. I think there might be some N Scale decals that would work for the cars too. I just did a CN F7a in Zed and found a set of N Scale decals that were just perfect for the loco. Let me know when you have them ready. Bob
Ben, Scalecoat paint has the proper color for the Caboose, they produced it for the CN SIG Group and it is spot on. It is CN Red/Orange # 11, CN Lines SIG Product #100-9. You should be able to get it at a hobby shop locally but if you can't I can get it here and send to you if you want. I just finished an Athabasca Shops brass HO caboose for a retired CN conductor and he was amazed at the colors, exactly like the real thing. Bob
Thanks for the tips, but I think that I have it quite close to the Pantone 485 C standards. Especially since the AZL SD75I and the MTL GP-9 (The only CN loco available) are not even the same tone of red/orange. I'm closer to MTL GP-9 as a reference though. Half a dozen? I'm not there yet! Ben
ben, if you made this caboose as a kit you wouldn't have to assemble them, and the rest of us could have the benefit of a great caboose! this would be a great kit. i hope you do it. dave f.
hi guys, the Rio Grande in the Z track picture is the SD50 i made from an AZL SD70 and narrowed MTL GP35 cab. i'm very happy with how it turned out. i did do two kitbashes of SD45s. One is painted and ready for decals (and running gear -- when the SD40-2s come out) and the other i was hoping to have someone cast into resin shells. but as we know that is a demanding project and there aren't any takers right now. the SD45s are totally made from parts of GP35s, but those three fans and grill sets were a lot of work (which is why i'd rather cast the shell than make anymore like that). i'm glad you liked the SD50. if was great fun to do. dave f.
Hi David, The SD50 looks really great and I'm sure the SD45 too, would be great to have somebody casting this shell (because I want a couple!!!!), I know a guy in Germany who can cast really well, should I contact him in this regard?
Hi Ben, a kit would be great or just the parts only, should be able to figure out how things go together.
I hear you all!!! But there is no way in god's name that I will put something on the market without proper instruction.:bear-cute: I did not put this info on, just to make everyone drool and get frustrated because they could not get this van, please!.... But rather bring some talking, some peoples where arguing that not much talking was going on lately on the forums, so I've decided to put some of my work on the table just for fun..... :bear-smile: Ben
Hi Torsja, I know this Barn, it's just around the corner down the street where you live. I saw it this april when I was visiting Oslo.
Tosja, that is one nice barn. Is the ramp to the second floor is used in case the first door floor is block due to snow?
