Here is one that is just plain disgusting. http://tinyurl.com/kc6st49 It is HO, but I couldn't resist.
We can block buyers all day long, but I can't block a seller like this so I don't have to look at his over the top idea of selling while I'm surfing eBay... His responses are very defensive and childish. Glad he's leaving the hobby because I wouldn't want to hang around him or worse, have my kids exposed to his way of thinking. Cheers, Brian
Brian, you can block a seller... in the Advanced Search you can specify which sellers you don't want to see. It's most of the way down the page. My 'ignore list' is over 50 sellers so far.
A woman in lingerie selling products either in print or on TV ? Never seen anything like that before. ( Go Daddy )( Victorias Secret )
I couldn't take it. I contacted them. I got back a very interesting reply: "We are not familiar with toy trains we just happen to have a few to sell and like stated our knowledge is minimal on this subject" Well, that's fun. I'm glad they aren't selling rifles, parachutes, or airplane navigation equipment!
Made me think of this listing...has lots of dollars inside and a dime: http://www.ebay.com/itm/NSE-11-36-2...c4kYZkMGtxBZyHkw8t5FY%3D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc
It sold !!!!! http://www.ebay.com/itm/29107026493...8.l2648&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT#ht_22wt_968 I think the buyer bought it because he was afraid the seller would relist it.
I ran across these two items and thought about this listing. Two SP gallery cars (granted one is Rapido and one Concor, but the cars and paint are the same and they're not numbered so they are for all purposes identical once removed from the box). Both auctions end within 45 minutes of each other. The first car with blurry pictures has a starting price of $12 with $10.80 shipping: http://www.ebay.com/itm/N-SCALE-TRA...777875?pt=Model_RR_Trains&hash=item5d491084d3 The second car has good pictures, a starting price of $5 and shipping of $5.80. Which would you buy? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Con-Cor-N-0...839687?pt=Model_RR_Trains&hash=item417c554e87
Depends... If the first one ended with one bid at 22.80 with shipping...seller has 3700 sales with 100% feedback If the second one ended with 4 bids at 25.80 with shipping...seller has 30 sales with 100% feedback Probably the first one ;-)
The problem here is, we are talking to the choir while many of these sellers couldn't sing a solo. A fat lady in lingerie...give me a break. There should be a way to communicate with these yeahoo's and tell them what we think. In a racing analogy, we can spin our wheels here all day long and get nowhere. On E-pay, I respect the buyer's I've purchased from and keep tabs on them. But some of the idiot's out there are selling junk at way over inflated prices. One asked me why I gave him a negative response. Sell junk...and that's what arrives at my house...well. However, I blame myself for that one. I should have seen that coming but what about other's who have no idea, what they are looking at? My two cents and I take change.
I was just looking at a calendar, and it dawned upon me why this was purchased: As a gift, as in less than two months is April Fools Day!
BarstowRick, they are only selling overpriced junk because someone is willing to buy said junk at that price. It seems that when people buy overpriced junk, a lot of people here seem to get all upset about that and I am not sure why. Is everyone mad at the seller or the buyer? Why do the people here care who buys what and for how much? I don't understand.
Nobody is mad. Folks are just having a good chuckle over some of the oddities and silliness which transpires at that site.
How very convenient. List any crap and then if someone asks, say you don't know anything about what you are selling.
I agree Ken... It's all in good fun. Seeing some of those things on E-bay is llike watching a train wreck...ya dont wanna...but you know you are going to.
