Different angle..... Hard to get good pictures, it's raining today. So I am taking these in the garage with a flash.
Man...one high speed trip in the rain and the paint is already chipping off the re-galvinized steel roof!
Actually........I thought I would try and see if I could weather it with the chipped paint. I figure if it don't look right, it can always be painted red again.
Actually the rain makes it look old, maybe when weathering you can lighten the car to almost an orange and then hit the bottom with the dust colors. That would look so sharp. Just a suggestion. Brian
This one I am going to do differently. It is going to be one of the last classes of ATSF Caboose, a CE-9. These had round windows on the cupola and on the end doors.
To blank out the side windows on this one, I went a different route. To get the round windows I bought a Trainworks DRGW brass caboose kit. I figured I would use the side windows too, even though they are slightly different in design. So I carefully cut pieces to size to cover the windows, and then cut the safety windows to size too.
