    Hey John;

It was good to catch up with you last night on the Z central chat..... I found this link this morning, and boy does that Dash look good. The ditch lights really make it look complete, and from your report on traction tires, i'm already working on converting my fleet.

Thanks for the great litlle video and photos....keep up the great work!!!!

Randy, wheres our report of the show. We want pictures.

I just received some Uncle Wills cylindrical hoppers. I was interested in comparing my version with Uncle Wills. I maybe bias, but I still prefer my version.

    GP40

I received a package yesterday, and it was the GP40 from David F. I am a big fan of his, and I am even a bigger fan after seeing his work in person. I dont think the pictures do justice to his engine, but is the best I can do. The engine is super detail with BLMA parts, and the it has the correct lenght and truck spacing. I do believe it is the BLMA. Thank you for such a beutiful engine.

    John,

It looks like the shell has an added 1/8" to it. Is this correct? Looks great!!!!

I do believe you sir probably have the largest collection of Z scale locomotives that have yet to be manufactured. GP39's, GP40', AC4400, what have I left out?

David has done an outstanding job!!! As that little boy riding the Bigwheel at the end of the cartoon movie "the Incredibles" said, "Totally Wicked"!!!!!

    Nice John!

I'm sure you're waiting on the MTL CSX SD40-2, and CSX AZL coalporters and autoracks like I am. 2008 should be a good year for CSX in Z!

Tim, I bump Davids step by step instruction. Also, I am following Robert's lead. There is a lot stuff that has never been done in Z, so its easy to be first one to do it. I can't claim to have the first GP40, but I can claim to have the first dcc GP40. :D

Joe, I should be a receiving a CSX Maxi III from FR this week. With all future CSX releases, I am going to be one happy camper. :D

The latest addition to the CSX intermodal fleet is a Maxi III from FR. The cars look great. The 20' containers are also very nice, specially the ACL. The top container is one of FR undec reefers. I painted the the top reeper with Floquil white, and the Dole decals are from TNTZ.

Joe, I like that idea. Some of us have a huge collection. I think I have most of my collection in Railimages, so I problaby need to take couple pictures to complete it. I like the idea of a picture essay of our collection. I can imagine how much Jurg has. Come to think about, Robert also has a sizeable collection.

I used to have a large part of my collection on Railimages, but I traded most of it away for trees, people, and Marklin Tank Cars! :D

I forgot to update my last CSX car, the Coal Porter. it looks great, and it matches well with my other CSX open hoppers. It has the AZL couplers, but its not all bad. Being that its going to be a unit train, I will not be switch around too much. In fact, I am ordering more of the AZL trucks to be used with the Huskys. They AZL trucks can be use with MTLs Huskys but not with FRs. With the Penzees, I used Hays Bros coal loads, but I dont think they make one for AZLs.

    John,

I love the coil car! I am a big fan of Bob's work. I also love seeing the coal porters in your line up. I would like to see Hay Bros for these cars. I plan on sending them a sample to work with

    Best,
    Rob

John, On my way home tonight, I saw something very interesting on CSX's RF&P sub. It was a loaded coal train that mixed rotary dump coal gons (like the BethGon Coal Porters) and many various (and old and rusty) coal hoppers, both 3 bay and 4 bay bottom dumps. My favorite thing was the "This is a quality CSX car" printed on many of the rust buckets. ;-)

Anyway, just an idea that perhaps it is OK to mix CoalPorters and more traditional bottom dump hoppers.

Randy, I saw a lot of that in the Mountain Sub video. I used to think that they would use either the Coal Porter or the regular hoppers, but I was wrong. I saw that they were using both together.
