The 1960s version of Red Bull, and, IMO, better tasting. Red Bull may give you wings, but it gives me a case of the heaves. Yuck!

In the interest of historical accuracy I feel the need to clarify that was actually Flavor Aid, but that is seriously off topic. [IMG]

I just read about three pages of stuff about this issue. I don't think I need to read more. I do have an oppinion though, so here goes.

I'll miss PSG on here. He's very knowledgeable, and I've been trading comments with him, as well as many others, for years now.

People leave forums. People come back to forums. To have someone else explain why he left would be a re-interpratation of the situation that wouldn't be fair to Bob. I think TB is doing the best thing by not saying anything. It's best to let it all be. Go to the link where he hangs out now and chat with him there and maybe he'll tell you himself.

As to TrainBoard mods being unfair. I am frequently a pest on train board. I post items that do not belong here or start big flame wars about various issues. If there is one thing train board IS, it's fair. I'm still here after all. :p

I've seen other people go through and delete all their posts out of spite. It's just silly to do so on a public forum. I can see why TB blocked his account, as he was being disruptive to the forum by deleting his entries.

    RE: FlavorAid

Is that the stuff that comes with powdered flavors and a white sugar stick that you lick and dip?

    Or was that lik-m-aid?

My Dad worked for Pillsbury then and this was one of their products.

What train fan can resist a name like "Choo Choo Cherry" and wearing an engineers cap!

    LOL...LOL...

Mr. PSG/Bob E., See what you started when you left T.B.. Now it's all gone to Kool-Aid...or some such! Still and all....I and others here will miss you. The best to you.

Comedic Relief, in an otherwise unpleasant sit-ui-ation... can't be all bad! It allows us to recover from the initial shock.

Kozmo you out did yourself this time. To funny...just to funny. Gosh and I do remember those drinks...I'm diabetic now! Hummm?

    Lot's of laughter and chuckles!

Before posting this, Steve asked me if it were legal. Yes, it is legal, as far as I can see. Just don't reuse the materials without the author's permission. People quote me all the time, and repost my images in the quotes. That's just fine.

We have had some issues with members posting images from other sites who object to this kind of reposting. The issue is not with our members! The issue is the other site protesting the reposts. Sometimes it's a copyright issue. Sometimes it's a bandwidth issue.

I think it's mostly a matter of common sense. You can certainly backup Trainboard threads to your local drives. If you receive a protest about something you repost, then be polite. If you are asked to remove the image, it's just polite to do so.

I doubt anyone's going to get into a serious copyright issue here. But we are a community, and politeness is a good community value.

well, I'm a beleiver of if you put it on the internet, it is now public domain. as most peolpe think this, and it is hard to do anything about it other than to have the image change to something less disirable or an X or a messaage of stop stealing our bandwidth.
since now it is like 12 hours later and those funny faces are still there, I suspect there is no problem. otherwise I'd copy them to my desktop, then upload them to my photobucket and wammo, then they are now mine to use as I like. ;-)
but if I can get away with not going through all that trouble/stealin gothers bandwidth, then nice and easy for me.

    Good Luck!

Koz, I have to ask - what's an 'imitation drink mix'? Does it make a drink you have when you're not having a drink?

Enquiring minds want to know! :D

This is unfortunate. Many people believe this myth that Internet = Public Domain. Fact is, the only things on the internet that are PD are items explicitly marked as PD. Otherwise, everything should always be considered copyrighted and should be left alone. Like it or not, this is the law.

If there is something of interest you wish to share that belongs to someone else, provide a link to it. That's what the Internet is all about--linking information together. It's just as easy to provide a link as it is to rip it off, so I never understood the mentality of stealing other people's property.

    Speaking just for myself:

While law is important I feel there is/are another reason(s) you can accept or reject:
    What comes around goes around
Do unto others, as you would have others do unto you.
Bread cast upon the waters comes back many fold.
The Rule of Threes: What ever you do will come back to you three fold.
(I applogise. I don't know who said what first or I would document it. Most reconize the "Golden Rule" and the referance to "bread". The other two have been adopted as one of the foundations of Wicca).

If you like I can quote Martin Luther King, Mother Teresa, Genghis Kahn, or myself:
"Live your life as if you were condemned to relive it until you get it right"

    Rhetorical Questions:
How would you feel if you were treated in this manner?
Why does “paying it forward” feel so good?
What did you feel the last time something was stolen from you?
Where do you feel you learned your personal values?
When do you feel it is right to violate your personal honor?

I am not talking about “right or wrong”. I am not talking about religion. It could be claimed that I am alluding to spirituality. I am talking about personal values. Apply what words you will but when you do you may wish to review your conscience first.

I’m not telling you how to live. I’m suggesting a way to live that in the end will probably lead to a happier life.

    well.
I'm actually conservitive and very law a biding person.
but I have been on forums of all type for years.
and many many many many times people have "stolen" images, etc and used them.
and in some cases for a business/selling without permission.(Really wrong)

    example:
I belong to a car forum.
someone posted photos of their car (made by Toyota) with an official Toyota body kit on it.
Someone else out there not only copied the actual Toyota body kit, but also used that guys photo of his car to advertise and sell the kit on ebay and his companies website.
Now, that is far more extreme stealing than grabbing an image from a google search and posting it in a forum.
As I remember the guy who photo he stole was mad and trying to make him take it down, pay him, etc. but, it cost a lot of money to sue, etc.

after many many many years of being on the internet, I just know, never post or send any words, photos, info, etc that you don't want anyone else to see, use, etc.
or lock access to it, watermark it, limit it's size, etc.

also, when posting a link, I'm less likey to go follow it.
I think and I like that flows much better to insert photos into the thread rather than a link.
