Nice track inspection car Don. I made one out of clear acrylic, and I find it very usefull in finding rough track spots.
Stage Coach I have been wanting to do this for a while Finally got the motivation to build The coin was too big so I used the match for reference. Under good magnification you can see the hub of the wheel in true 3D. For the thickness vs depth, this cannot be done by photoetching. I forgot to take the inside picture, it has some interior details like seats and I plan to put a few people inside and I have to add a LED for them to be visible. Will post more as it progresses... Kim
As of 10 February 2007, ~7:00 PM, my workbench has, from left to right, the last four sections of flex to lay on the JRB (hope to have these down tonight or tomorrow), and a large shipment of surface-mount LEDs just received from Digi-Key. I've also just ordered a metal etching kit from Micro-Mark and intend to take a crack at photo-etching. Some of the first items on the (long) list will be parts to make traffic lights and railroad crossing flashers.
It is been a busy few days. I thought I would share what is covering my work bench, literally... The proof sheets for the January/February issue of Ztrack. 25 TNT Thrall 48' well cars from the great Sgt. Tim. 90 Center beam kits, including opera window, double truss and quad truss from the amazing Robert Ray. 100 PRR GP7s from AZL 100 UP GP7s from AZL Yes, folks, the GP7s are here! I will have official announcements very soon. I also will be announcing the Ztrack Craftsman line that we will be distributing Robert's center beams under. The Thralls will start shipping tomorrow. It is a VERY exciting time and I am just dying since I would rather be building center beams and running GP7s instead of working. Oh well! Rob
Well, I will need to be running 3 of the UP GP7's at the show in a couple weeks, so we better go ahead and drop those beauties in the mail ASAP! I got to figure out how to fit decoders in them, which due to there scale size, room inside is at a premium, but i think I am up to the task! It looks like you have your work cut out for you Rob!
There goes my 2006 bonus already! Looks like I'll have to get in line quick, those first 100 are probably going to evaporate! Could you post an image soon, pretty-please?
