Karen, The bridges look great. There used to be quite a few of the covered highway bridges around when I was a kid, only a few left, now, though. Dan S.
Excellent bridges Karin! Ben, I use spot yellow over spot white, but the artwork must be black when you tell it to print spot yellow, or it will try to convert yellow into a gray scale, making it real light. There are some tricks to get other shades of yellow, like spot silver, spot white, spot yellow. Another method would be spot white, spot yellow, Standard Colors (RGB) yellow with the correct color artwork you want.
Haaaaa! That's where my mistake was, I used spot yellow and keeping the color yellow in Corel, I'll try this solution later, thanks. I think that by now you had figure out that I bought an Alps printer, with all you're continuous efforts on me, I finally convince myself to go for it. Ben
It's slow going but some things have been done this Christmas. The track is laid down and some basic groundwork is on the way.
Nice work Torsja! Your layouts and diorama's are always excellent! I started work on a new project myself. This time it's a 60' Gunderson Opera Window Centerbeam, which will be in Domtar Gypsum paint, as that is the only people I can find who leased these cars. This is the decal layout, but I have not made the decals yet:
This car is made mostly out of .015" Lazerboard, with a 1/32" plywood piece inside the floor, containing the car weight. The most noticable spotting features from the Thrall cars, are the 2 outermost cutouts are smaller and egg shaped. As far as I can tell, Domtar Gypsum was the only lessor of these cars owned by GBRX Gunderson Inc. That means only 50 were made. The Lazerboard material, a plasticized paper product, cuts great, and allows for much finer detail than was previously possible with a laser. That brake platform was laser perforated with ease!
Yeah Robert, you don't have to worry about small detail breaking with the grain. GREAT looking rolling stock you have created!!! Now, if I could only get someone to teach me how to crank out a whole steam loco on the laser I'd be one popular laser razor1
Nice Job Robert. The Lazerborad looks like a good material with sharp and nice cutts. What if you had perforated the brake platform was laser from the other side? Wouldn't you get even more detailed and sharp holes on the platform?
Nice new cars Robert. Terrific detail on the ends of the car. It shows what can be done with those magical lasers. Have you painted any up and how does the paint take to that material? Bob
I always wanted to do a windmill, did some tests with very tiny size beam, wanted to reproduce the wood tower, but seems the steel one was doable with the laser. Still working on some 3D effect to do the blades curvy.
