    Trackwork!

The major of Plentywood has sorted out his financial problems and do now have the cash to buy what he want's, but the job does result in less time to build, but PW is slowly connecting to the rest of SP trackage.

The ex-up gp7 is hauling some long sections of track.

The MoW crew is working hard, but it takes too much time, better call in the H0 crew.

The H0 crew makes it go much faster! But still not as fast as " the hand of god"

Chris Tatarian came over today for the BAZ BoyZ work party. (The Zo Cal Z'rs are working on theirs too). He built a 2x4 using the NTrak module frame standard (not the track). We made legs past weekend and this weekend we laid the roadbed and track. We ended up using his existing Märklin flex, sectional and turnouts as he did not want to reinvest in Peter Wright's turnouts and MTL flex at this time. We modified the Märklin turnouts by cutting off the manual control so that he could mount a Tortoise underneath.

I think he means as in 2'x4' domino shape, not the 40" off the floor height. Jeff is one of the "Bend GuyZ" subscribing to the "It Ain't Z-Bend Track Without the BendZ" philosophy. :D

Is the Ntrak used for N scalers?

Robert, the connections are still the same, right? Since I cant do woodwork, I thought about getting one of those Ntrak modules they have for sale.

Ntrak is what most N Scale modular clubs use. Ntrak connections are different. They have a 3 track mainline, and use 3 plugs at each end. It's a kind of connector no longer made, so I don't know what the new replacement for Ntrak is.

For ZBT we have 2 two track mainlines, and we use 4 D connectors, a male and a female DB25 connection at each end.

You can use the pre-built Ntrak module, but you need to add 10" leg extensions because ZBT is 50" and Ntrak is 40".

Sorry, it was late. Clarified the text in the post. He used an Ntrak module 'frame' and we laid track to the ZBT interface. EVERYTHING is ZBT standard. The frame was just built to their standards (wood, construction, etc.).

    Where is my inspiration?

It has now gone 4 month's since last update, simply because i haven't done anything. All MR related i have done lately is buying things and trying out real rust on models ( amazing result btw).

But where is my inspiration to build anything? i can go down and watch the layout , thinking of all the things i want to do, but i just can't sit down and do it..

Hope that the autumn brings lots and lots of bad weather!

    :tb-sad:

Don't worry. We all go through similar phases. The nice thing about this hobby is your layout and trains are all there, when interest swings back up again.

Henrik, its starts with simple projects that you can finish like building like one or Robert Ray's laser kits. Sometimes you just have to do what is fun for you. I get all kinds of inspiration by running my trains or watching all the interesting projects other z scalers do.

    Henrik,

I know the feeling. Summer, sun, girls and . . oops, can't say that here :) I too sometimes cannot imagine the structures or details but I get inspiration in 2 ways: I lay track and that helps me creat ideas or, I see everyones pictures or from the magazines and flyers that help me with buildings and structures.

Don't forget your neighbor Torsja !

Don't worry Henrik, I'm sure the inspiration will get back to you again. I have kind off the same "limbo" feeling these days with lots off ideas but not so much motivation actually get things done. But suddenly the get busy feeling comes and I'm off again with building some stuff. :)

I get that sometimes myself...then I get a new kit or car and the feeling to build is there again!
