Come, come to the Z side. You can do so much more in Z. Remember, switching to Z is easy. Just turn the N on it's side. Rob
I feel your pain. I have a ton of N scale stuff sitting idle, with nothing but Kato track I could set up to run it on. It's only the progress that Z has made in the past few years that has kept me buying it, and planning a (eventual) home layout in Z. So I'm stuck trying to figure out what to do with all my N scale stuff... I'm definitely going to keep my Japanese prototype trains, but I may whittle away at my North American fleet... I don't think I'm going to part with my 100-plus unit RoadRailer train just yet, though! However, this SD70 has me in a quandry. I'm becoming more focused on one particular era in history, and the SD70 isn't included. We'll Zeee! Adam
EVIL.....EVIL EVERYWHERE!!! My ma warned me about people like you. (runs away screaming....N N N N Z no N N N I was looking at a bunch of Z scale products this weekend at the WGH show in Saint Paul. saw some nice looking UP locos but man is that stuff small!! The trains is not the worst part. but the buildings, people, and other details are just sooooooo tiny . I will build a small layout someday in Z but I really do not see myself doing a whole layout.
Yes, they showed me Z way! Now i have a 10 year collection on N Scale just boxed up and collecting dust. I will have to break down and sell it all off, so I can have more Z Scale. Z you one the other Zide! -Robert
I had HO as a kid and was about to start building a layout in N scale when I inherited a Z scale starter set from my wife's grandfather. Now N scale looks huge to me, HO look like O and O looks like it belongs in the garden! There is no going back. I've already got an SD70M on preorder and am already considering a second even though it's not in the budget. Randy
Z scale math for the SD70. CSX + BNSF(no delivery date)/ can't wait= order UP. Randy, if it is not in the budget, then just add it to the budget. You are near the Capitol, Thats how they do it.
Z Scale algebra 101: 2(HorseHead+SD70M) / full wallet __________________________ =2*BN(SD60M) SOLD+OUT+IN+1+WEEK = -Robert
Professor Ray, is this what you are saying. 2NS(SD70M) ___________(1 week)= 2BN(SD60M stripping+ painting
What he's saying is he's smart enough to pay less for the NS models rather than the UP ones... Even if he's going to modify them. Adam
Robert, Sorry, I just can't do. No SD70Ms for you. Though the green is awesome, I just love those ponies. In good conscience, I just can't let you have any of these locos. Sorry.. won't happen, no no no.... Actually, I have an update. The NS SD70Ms will be the first released. These will be coming in May. The UP will be released in June, CNR in July. Also, production numbers are much lower than I thought. I am not allowed to share the numbers, but there is a possibility that many of the runs will sell out. This is especially true for some of the runs planned for later this year and 2007. Rob Kluz
Rob, If certain names do sell out, what is the likelyhood that AZL will do a rerelease of that roadname a little later? I model NS, CSX (and Conrail is a given between these two ) But at some point I would also like to have a BNSF and/or UP unit to add a little different "flavor" to things. I will probably get the ones that I model as they come, but will have to save for the others and unfortunately, they may sell out before I have saved enough . Thanks, Phil
Rob, if the dates are pushed back again, when does this make BNSF available? I certainly don't want to be left high and dry without one since the production numbers are known to be lower than first percieved! BNSF- will they be painted in; Heritage II or BNSF Warbonnet Thanks! Tim
Rob, I agree with restricting Robert from acquiring these horsies. If the production numbers are going to be that low, we should not allow purchase for stripping and repainting. It's just not fair!! I'm kidding, I think. Are these the absolute final delays, or is May being advertised with fingers crossed? I don't know how much longer I can take the anticipation!!! Any word on your visit out east?
Tim... Sorry, I have no informaiton on the BNSF releases (plural). I am not sure of dates or varients. Bryan... we are advertising May and it looks good right now. Of course there is always a chance that we will see a delay at Ajin or in shipping. I am waiting to hear from Rob and Hans when the best weekend in March is for them. I am loking forward to seeing everyone! Rob
