The Alaska is running SD70MACs, correct? AZL in considering the MACs, but has not made a firm decision. All releases are based on the SD70s which are very different from the MAC and the more recent ACEs. Randy, my first impression was that AZL was going to offer these locos in fairly large quantities. This is not the case and some of the runs are being produced in quantities similar to brass. Because of this, we may see some runs sell out fairly quickly. Rob
hmmm, I might have to rethink my budget now. Or is this just a ploy to get us to buy more initially??? An interesting marketing strategy.........affordable, limited run locomotives........
Hello guys, I am new on trainboard.com, but I read Ztrack for a long time now. Fortunately I decided some years ago to collect US prototypes only. Since Marklin has no really new items, I appreciate to get some AZL, Pennzee and Bowser stuff. I also appreciate (together with my wife ...) the reasonable pricing of $215 for AZL SD70s which is an additional advantage if you are from Europe by today. Don't expect a modern $215-engine from Marklin ... Regards, Carsten
I second the motion. We are all waiting for SD70. Do you have pictures of your layout. [ March 15, 2006, 08:33 AM: Message edited by: shamoo737 ]
I do not run a layout, I am a collector 'only'. Unfortunately I am no handyman, so I guess I am too akwardly ... Alan, did you see the die-cast F.F. Ertl trucks and trailors in scale 1/256 which I sent? Regards, Carsten
The pic you all hawe benn waiting for. :shade: My first impressione on this one is that it is a great locomotive, but it dont drive any better than the gp35. I also saw the cab forwards and the new coalporter, Torsja tok great pics of thoose, so i hope he will post them here. By the way.. the engine in the back of the pic in the old sd70 tread is the same locomotive but with another cab. And Hans told me that he will not release more brass on awile (sorry jürg) .:teeth:
Go horsies! Looks good. Will be interesting to see one in action and get back performance results. But they didn't change the unit number or remove the white brow, so I'm a little (read: little) disappointed in the lack of attention to detail. (NS didn't start painting the white brows until unit 2590, which was the newer SD70Ms with the flared radiators). Needless to say it's a nice-looking model. Adam
Nice picture Henrik! Are the SD70's shipping already or is this just a pre-production sample Hans is showing?
Very nice Picture Henrik. Ask Hans about a AZL Shay Steam Locomotive and tell Torsja that he must take a lot of pictures for us.
It is a sample model. I think it will be shipped in may. I forgot to ask about the shay... I can`t be there tomorrow.. :-( but Hans talked about some 1950 engines i dont remember the name off... :-(
Nice shot in the snow... The NS colors really stand out. But why is the "hand of God" holding those horsies back? Adam
