We received our first shipment yesterday. Already, almost all of our first shipment is in the mail going out to happy Z scalers around the world. Folks, forget about my association with AZL. I have to be honest. These locomotives are incredible! The detail is amazing. They have a look and feel of brass. Plus, they run very slow and smooth. The only issue I had is that they tend to hit the catenary masts on my European layout. I won't be able to test them on the US modules for at least a week. Actually, the Ztrack offices will be closed for the next week. I can't wait to see the posts when these locos start hitting mailboxes. Have fun! Rob
I spent the morning testing the SD70Ms. One loco was pulling 57 cars! It still wasn't slipping that much, but any more cars would really tax the loco. We were seeing the cars start to shake a little as the loco struggled at times. Putting a 2nd loco smoothed out the running and we ran 57 cars with two locos for a couple of hours. This was accomplished on Z Bend Track modules, outside loop. We experience no problems with Marklin turnouts and expansion track. What great locos! Rob
Rob, are wheel design similar to the F59-PHI where you snap it on and off. I am thinking ahead when it nees maintenance. My worm screw always get filled with lint. I know I should vacuum more often. Also, when you said its no speed merchant, you didn't it's that slow. I thought I had a bad engine until I read Bryan's post on Train Central, but it is easily one of the strongest puller. I have the Up version, and I think it looks better then the brass engines. Much more detail. Just have to get used to its slow speed.
Why resisting?:shade: You only have to give in! Welcome on board awesome Z scale! Dominique, who has ordered this morning his second AZL UP SD70
